The move is aimed at creating a resilient, efficient, and effective storage system that will minimise losses, strengthen the food storage ecosystem, and help achieve food sovereignty.

The event will celebrate millers who have demonstrated outstanding performance in food fortification.

The initiative is funded through a collaborative partnership with the African Development Bank contributing US$9.2 million.

The new versions of these iconic candies will be made without Food, Drug & Cosmetic (FD&C) synthetic color additives.

This means that by the 2026/27 school year, at least 96% of ABA-affiliated suppliers will be offering baked goods free of synthetic dyes.
