DAL Food renews ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Certifications, reinforcing commitment to safety

The milestone is the result of collective efforts across all levels of the organization, with special recognition to our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Team.

SUDAN – DAL Food, Sudan’s leading agri-food enterprise, has announced the successful renewal of its ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications, underscoring its dedication to occupational health and safety, environmental management, and overall operational excellence.

As part of the DAL Group, Sudan’s most diversified conglomerate with over 40 years of operations in the country, DAL Food plays a pivotal role in enhancing food security and providing affordable staple products to millions.

The company, formed through the merger of several divisions in 2013, integrates agriculture, industry, and technology to deliver high-quality foods and beverages, including flour, pasta, dairy products, sugar, bottled water under the Safia brand, Coca-Cola beverages, and an array of fruit juices.

With a milling capacity exceeding one million tonnes annually and dairy production surpassing 200,000 yogurt cups daily, DAL Food holds a dominant market position in key sectors such as packaged flour, sorghum, pasta, and dairy, while also pioneering pasteurized fresh milk and ultra-high-temperature (UHT) milk in Sudan.

The certification renewal highlights the collective contributions of DAL Food’s workforce, with particular acknowledgment extended to the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Team for their instrumental role in maintaining a secure and sustainable operational environment.

This achievement aligns with the company’s guiding principle, “Prevent Today, Protect Tomorrow,” which embodies top management’s resolve to attain “zero harm” and cultivate a culture of safety and accountability across all operations.

ISO 45001, the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems, and ISO 14001, focused on environmental management, are globally recognized benchmarks that ensure organizations adhere to rigorous protocols for risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

For DAL Food, these renewals not only validate existing practices but also support broader objectives, including sustainable supply chain management through local sourcing from divisions like DAL Agriculture, which supplies raw materials such as sorghum and milk.

DAL Food’s leadership continues to prioritize these standards as integral to its mission of improving lives through reliable, affordable products, positioning the company as a model for responsible business practices in the region.
