USA – Duravant, a global provider of equipment and automation solutions, has announced the acquisition of Pattyn Group, a Belgian manufacturer specializing in packaging automation systems.
This strategic move, first announced in February 2025, followed the signing of a definitive agreement between the two companies.
The acquisition is expected to allow Duravant to expand into the global market, utilizing Pattyn’s established presence through its six manufacturing sites in Belgium, France, and Spain.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Pattyn to the Duravant family. Pattyn’s robust portfolio of high-quality packaging technologies and its strong emphasis on delivering value-driven solutions align perfectly with Duravant’s commitment to customer success. This partnership opens up incredible opportunities for collaboration among our operating companies, enhancing our ability to serve a global customer base with innovative and reliable automation solutions,” said Mike Kachmer, Chair and CEO of Duravant.
Pattyn is renowned for its expertise in automating bulk packaging operations across various food and non-food industries.
The company specializes in bag-in-box packaging technology and offers solutions that cover the entire packaging process, including case erecting, bag inserting, weighing, filling, and palletizing.
Operating from six specialized manufacturing sites located in Belgium, France, and Spain, Pattyn not only designs and builds customized integrated solutions but also provides lifelong support through its sales and service divisions in North America and Asia.
“Pattyn shares Duravant’s culture and customer-focused mindset, and we see tremendous potential to advance our strategic priorities with unprecedented speed. Duravant’s global reach and presence in fast-growing end markets, such as protein processing, create a powerful platform for further expansion and innovation. We’re also excited to leverage Duravant’s investments in emerging markets like Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, China, and India to better support customers in those regions,” said Stan Pattyn, CEO of Pattyn.
Pattyn’s Bakery Division is particularly notable for its high-volume packaging lines designed for bread, pastries, and frozen dough.
Utilizing 3D vision and robotic pick-and-place technology, these systems ensure accuracy in handling bakery products.
Additionally, Pattyn excels in designing and manufacturing large-volume bag-in-box filling lines for substantial bags and ‘octabins,’ primarily serving the petrochemical and food production sectors.
“As customers around the world strive for smarter, safer, and more efficient production, Pattyn continues to lead the way with packaging systems that meet today’s demands and the challenges of tomorrow. Their ability to innovate and adapt has been at the core of their success,” Kachmer stated.
