Winter weather has cut Sweden’s grain harvest forecast to 5 million tons, raising concerns over farm incomes and wheat supplies ahead of the 2026 harvest.

The update underscores PepsiCo’s commitment to building a more sustainable food system while supporting farmers and reducing environmental impacts across its global operations.

The new SKU is made using the brand’s signature slow fermentation process and contains just four ingredients: flour, water, salt and fermented wheat flour, delivering a golden, crunchy texture when toasted.

The transaction will see CVC Capital Partners IX acquire Irca, the global B2B manufacturer of speciality food ingredient solutions.

The financing gives the food processing equipment business additional flexibility as it moves toward independence and a more aggressive acquisition-led growth strategy.
