Symaga upgrades feed silo range with stronger S450GD steel, new large storage-capacity models
The enhancements are designed to improve durability, increase storage capacity, and deliver greater cost efficiency for livestock producers, feed manufacturers, and agribusinesses seeking modern storage infrastructure.
SPAIN – Symaga, a global leader in galvanized steel silo manufacturing, has announced significant upgrades to its livestock feed silo portfolio, introducing higher-strength S450GD structural steel and expanding its range of 3.80-meter-diameter models.
Developed under the Spanish company’s Annual Product Development Plan, the enhancements aim to bolster structural durability, operational flexibility, and supply chain resilience for modern livestock operations.
Starting in August 2026, Symaga will transition its primary farm silo production line from S350GD steel to high-performance S450GD structural steel.
The new steel grade increases the material’s yield strength from 350 N/mm² to 450 N/mm², providing a 28% increase in structural performance.
This upgraded mechanical capability allows the manufactured silos to withstand heavier mechanical loads, severe weather conditions, and continuous daily stress on commercial livestock farms.
In addition to enhancing product longevity, company officials noted that adopting S450GD steel optimizes raw material procurement and strengthens supply chain efficiency.
To maintain uninterrupted manufacturing and delivery schedules during the roll-out, Symaga will utilize both steel grades during a temporary transition phase.
Alongside the material upgrade, Symaga is expanding its larger-capacity inventory options with new 3.80-meter-diameter feed silo models capable of storing up to 86 cubic meters of feed.
The addition of these higher-volume configurations gives livestock producers greater versatility to match specific herd sizes, feeding system configurations, and space constraints.
By increasing on-farm storage capacity, the larger units enable producers to streamline inventory management, reduce the frequency of bulk feed deliveries, and lower overall transportation and logistics costs.
The feed silo line continues to incorporate Symaga’s standard Z600 galvanized protective coating, delivering maximum resistance against atmospheric corrosion and harsh agricultural environments.
