Bridor strengthens European leadership with acquisition of Panamar Bakery Group

The acquisition will allow Bridor, a subsidiary of the France-based Le Duff Group, to integrate Panamar’s industrial baking capabilities and distribution network across Spain and other European markets.

SPAIN – France-based Le Duff Group, through its subsidiary Bridor, has agreed to acquire Spain’s Panamar Bakery Group, marking the largest deal in the company’s history.

The acquisition positions Bridor as a dominant force in premium bakery and viennoiserie products, particularly across the Iberian Peninsula, where Panamar has long been a key player.

The deal marks the largest acquisition to date for both Bridor and its parent company, Le Duff Group, with financial terms remaining undisclosed.

Le Duff Group is targeting €3.5 billion (US$4.06B) in turnover across its subsidiaries: BRIDOR (bakery), GOURMING (ready meals), its CATERING chains (Brioche Dorée, Del Arte, La Madeleine, and franchises), and PROPERTY.

Panamar, headquartered in Valencia, employs around 2,600 people and is projected to generate approximately €600 million in turnover for 2026.

The family-run company manufactures and distributes over 1,200 stock-keeping units (SKUs) under brands like Panamar, Cobopa, Pacfren, and Panusa, serving retail, hospitality, and foodservice channels.

Its products, including bread, Viennese pastries, and pâtisserie items, are exported to more than 20 countries across four continents, boosting Bridor’s existing network in 100 countries.

By integrating Panamar’s extensive distribution network and regional expertise, Bridor aims to enhance its service to the Spanish retail and foodservice sectors, offering a blended portfolio of French artisanal heritage and Spanish bakery specialties.

Bridor’s global investment plan to accelerate its growth

Bridor, a global specialist in the manufacture of premium frozen bakery products, is investing in the construction of new factories and in the development of existing factories, as well as in acquisitions.

Bridor itself has seen explosive growth, with turnover rising from €750 million (US$871.10M) in 2021 to €2.5 billion (US$2.90B) in 2026, and ambitions to double that by 2031 via expansions in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

In recent years, the company has actively pursued acquisitions and investments to strengthen its position in key international markets and diversify its bakery portfolio.

Recent and planned investments include:

  • In America: expansion of the Bridor plant in Montréal (2021); and in the United States, acquisition of Lecoq Cuisine (Connecticut, 2022), expansion of the Vineland plant (New Jersey, 2025), construction of a plant in Salt Lake City (Utah, 2026), and construction of a plant in Texas (2028).

Bridor has grown alongside the industry’s greatest professionals in catering and gastronomy. It supplies bread, Viennese pastries, and frozen pastries to 90,000 restaurants, hotels (4-, 5-, and 6-star), and distribution professionals worldwide.

The company collaborates with Chefs such as Pierre Hermé, La Maison Lenôtre, and Les Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Frédéric Lalos) to offer original creations inspired by the bakery cultures of the world.

Bridor recruits many talented individuals worldwide each year and trains them at its Academy across all business areas and roles.

Louis Le Duff, founder and president of Le Duff Group, said the company’s continued growth is driven by long-term team stability, product quality and ongoing innovation across both products and services.

The addition of Panamar is expected to reinforce these pillars further, while accelerating Bridor’s global leadership ambitions in premium frozen bakery.
