Nestlé debuts DiGiorno wood fired style pizza

The new pizza option consists of a chewy, slightly burnt pizza crust that was previously baked at high temperatures.

USANestlé S.A. has introduced a new product line as part of its DiGiorno pizza brand: wood fired style crust pizza.

Additionally, it comes in four different varieties including Premium Pepperoni, which Nestle said contains rich, zesty pepperoni and Italian Meat Trio, which features a carefully curated blend of pepperoni, salami, and Italian sausage;

The other varieties are Supreme Speciale, which combines layers of pepperoni and sausage with a variety of vegetables, including green, yellow, and red peppers and onion; and Four Cheese, which consists of four cheeses—Romano, Asiago, mozzarella, and Parmesan—melted on top of the crust.

“DiGiorno is known for consistently delivering a fresh-baked taste and crust innovation, and wood fired style crust pizza is no exception,” said Kimberly Holowiak, senior brand manager of DiGiorno.

Holowaik noted that this new crust gives all the things people love about wood-fired pizza, including the crisp, chew, and char, without ever leaving the house or using a pizza oven making it another example of how the company is pushing the frozen category and catering to people’s changing tastes.

Beginning in May, all four DiGiorno wood-fired style crust pizza variants will be sold at national stores for US$6.49, the manufacturer’s recommended retail price.

A division of Nestlé, DiGiorno is a frozen pizza brand that is offered in the US. Nestle stopped selling Delissio pizzas in Canada in 2023.

Every day, DiGiorno produces more than 250,000 pizzas for customers to purchase nationwide in the US mainland.

This launch follows a partnership between Nestlé Research & Development (R&D) Asia and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) to offer wholesome, tasty, reasonably priced, and sustainable food.

According to Nestle, the partnership would foster innovation in important fields including digital transformation, sustainable packaging, and alternative proteins, including plant-based and hybrid plant/dairy products.
