India’s ITC Sunfeast Farmlite launches sugar‑free cookies for mindful snacking

The new cookie range reflects the growing shift among consumers toward reduced-sugar and better-for-you snack options, particularly in urban markets where demand for healthier indulgences is steadily rising.

INDIA – ITC Foods has expanded its Sunfeast Farmlite range with a new sugar‑free cookies line, targeting health‑conscious consumers seeking “guilt‑free” indulgence in everyday snacking.

The launch positions Sunfeast Farmlite Sugar Free Cookies as a better‑for‑you option in India’s rapidly growing health‑snack segment, aligning with the company’s broader “Help India Eat Better” initiative.

The new range debuts in two variants: Choco Nut Cookies and Hazelnut & Oats Cookies, both designed to balance indulgent flavour with reduced‑sugar formulation.

Each variant is a source of protein and contains no trans‑fat, while the Hazelnut & Oats Cookies are also lactose‑free, broadening accessibility for lactose‑intolerant consumers.

The new cookies are described by the company as protein sources that contain no trans fats, with the Hazelnut & Oats variant also labelled lactose-free, reflecting a focus on dietary inclusivity and a health-conscious positioning.

Suraj Kathuria, Vice President (Marketing), Biscuits, Foods Division at ITC Ltd., said, “At Sunfeast Farmlite, we believe mindful snacking should never come at the cost of indulgence. With this launch, we are catering to the growing need for guilt-free snacking while delivering a rich, satisfying cookie experience.”

He added that the cookies cater to growing consumer interest in healthier, consciously formulated snacks without sacrificing taste or cookie‑eating experience.

Dr. Shantanu Das, Vice President & Head of Food Sciences at ITC Foods, highlighted the role of food science in developing a sugar‑free profile while preserving the expected mouthfeel and flavour.

The formulation leverages the company’s Research & Development capabilities to deliver products that are both nutritionally oriented and commercially appealing, aiming to weave healthier snacking into everyday routines.

The Sunfeast Farmlite Sugar Free Cookies will be available on popular quick‑commerce platforms such as Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto, in 100 g packs priced at ₹100 (US$1.08).

The move reinforces ITC’s focus on premium, functional biscuits and strengthens Sunfeast Farmlite’s position in the better‑for‑you biscuit and cookie category.

The launch also comes at a time when India’s biscuit and cookies market is seeing increased competition in the health segment, with brands racing to meet demand from people with diabetes, fitness enthusiasts, and weight-conscious consumers.

ITC Sunfeast Farmlite’s entry into the sugar-free cookies segment positions it as a formidable player in this fast-evolving space.
