The new project follows two previous high-capacity installations, solidifying Imas as a primary technical partner in Iraq‘s drive toward agricultural self-sufficiency and industrial modernization.

IRAQ – Imas, a leading Turkish manufacturer and turnkey solution provider in grain and feed milling technologies, has signed a third agreement with the Mokhalad Group to construct an additional state-of-the-art flour mill in Iraq.
Imas is establishing itself as a long-term project partner for Mokhalad Group’s investments in flour milling, following the completion of the first 500 TPD flour mill project in Tikrit, Salah Ad-Din province, which has been operational since the end of 2024.
Imas signed the second agreement with Mokhalad Group for a new 500 TPD flour mill in July 2025 and the third agreement for another 500 TPD flour mill in August 2025.
The second and third projects are currently on track to be commissioned by the end of 2026.
The partnership underscores Turkey’s growing influence in Iraq’s post-conflict agribusiness revival, enhancing local production amid global grain price volatility.
The total scale of all three projects built for Mokhalad Group amounts to approximately 500,000 tonnes of annual wheat-processing capacity.
These repeat orders demonstrate Mokhalad Group’s confidence in Imas’s manufacturing, engineering, and project management capabilities.
Additionally, this agreement indicates continued investment in domestic flour production capacity, aimed at supplying bakery and all-purpose flour to the local market.
Muhammed Uzun, Sales and Marketing Director at Imas, said the company aims to maintain a long-term partnership with Mokhalad Group as it expands its milling operations.
The first commissioned flour mill operating in Tikrit, Iraq
Imas built the project as Mokhalad’s first investment in flour milling. The 500 TPD flour mill in Tikrit, Salah Ad-Din region, has been operational since the end of 2024 and features the latest automation technology.

The milling section of the plant was designed as two independent units, each with a capacity of 250 TPD to produce high-quality bakery and all-purpose flours for domestic consumption nationwide.
The flour mill is managed through an end-to-end automation system, from wheat intake to flour packaging. As well as a centralized process management, the fully integrated automation architecture offers enhanced transparency, advanced reporting, and remote connection features.
The country has long depended heavily on imported grain products, and scaling up local milling infrastructure is considered critical to reducing that vulnerability.
Imas operates globally with completed projects across more than 110 countries, and in 2025 was recognized among the top 1,000 exporters in Turkey by the Turkish Exporters Assembly.
