The launch marks a category-first initiative in India as the company seeks to reposition bread from a basic staple to a flavour-driven product tailored to evolving consumer preferences.

INDIA – Bonn Group of Industries has entered uncharted territory in the bakery segment with the launch of India’s first‑ever flavoured bread range, aimed at reimagining everyday tea‑time and snack‑time routines.
The new products are positioned as a bold, “desi” twist to traditional bread, blending familiar Indian flavours with everyday convenience.
The range debuts with three distinct variants: Bonn Lehsuni Tadka Bread, Bonn Missi Bread, and Bonn Digestive Ajwain Jeera Bread.
Each variant is designed to cater to local taste preferences, turning bread from a neutral base into a flavour‑driven snack that pairs naturally with chai or curd, and even as a light replacement for roti‑style meals.
By infusing spices and spice‑like notes normally associated with Indian cooking, Bonn seeks to bridge the gap between bread and conventional roti‑based consumption.
Amrinder Singh, Director, Bonn Group, said, “At Bonn, we believe innovation is the key to unlocking the next phase of growth in the bakery category. With these favoured breads, we are introducing a new way of experiencing bread. By bringing familiar Indian favourites into a modern format, we aim to create excitement, drive experimentation, and expand the category into new territories, such as the roti segment. This is just the beginning of how diverse and dynamic bread can become in India.”
The launch is being rolled out initially via quick‑commerce channel Blinkit, ensuring easy access for urban consumers who want novelty and flavour within everyday shopping occasions.
This strategy leverages the speed and accessibility of quick commerce to capture the attention of shoppers who prioritize convenience and novelty.
With this move, Bonn aims to nudge the bread category toward a more experiential, flavour‑rich space, while maintaining its reputation as a leading mass‑market bread brand in India.
The flavoured range is expected to attract both existing bread users and those who typically gravitate toward traditional Indian snacks, positioning Bonn as a first‑mover in India’s savoury, flavoured bread segment.
The launch signals continued experimentation in India’s bakery sector as brands pursue premiumization and occasion-led innovation to drive category growth.
Headquartered in Ludhiana, Bonn Group is one of India’s prominent bakery manufacturers with a strong presence across North India.
The company produces a wide range of bakery items, including breads, biscuits, cakes, and rusks, and has continued to focus on product innovation and consumer-centric development to expand its footprint in the packaged food sector.
