ABA expands leadership team to support strategic growth

By bringing in experienced leaders with diverse expertise, ABA aims to deepen its engagement with stakeholders while advancing policy initiatives that support innovation and sustainability in the baking industry.

USA – The American Bakers Association (ABA) has expanded its leadership team as part of a broader effort to strengthen strategic growth and deepen industry advocacy.

The move is designed to support the association’s long-term plan while delivering greater value to members across the commercial baking sector.

In its latest development, ABA has appointed several senior professionals to key leadership roles across policy, communications, and membership divisions.

The expanded team is expected to enhance the organization’s ability to represent the interests of commercial baking companies, ingredient suppliers, and allied businesses in both domestic and international markets.

Leading the new executive additions is Chris Zimmerman, who joins as Vice President of Finance and Operations.

Zimmerman brings a wealth of experience from previous roles as a Chief Financial Officer, during which he was recognized for applying a for-profit operational mindset to the non-profit sector.

At the ABA, he will lead budgeting and financial forecasting, with a specific focus on the financial planning for the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), the industry’s premier global event.

Joining Zimmerman is Jennifer “JB” Bulcao, who has been named Chief of Staff. Bulcao transitions to the ABA from the NAMA Foundation, where she served as Executive Director and Board Liaison.

Her background in governance and organizational strategy is expected to streamline executive operations and strengthen the link between the ABA’s board and its professional staff.

Her role will be pivotal in ensuring that the association’s initiatives remain aligned with its strategic goals and advocacy milestones.

In addition to these external hires, the ABA has recognized internal talent through two significant promotions. Samantha Moore has been elevated to Vice President of Events and Programming, where she will continue to refine the association’s networking and educational offerings.

Meanwhile, Thomas Bailey has been promoted to Senior Director of Government Relations. This role places him at the forefront of the ABA’s legislative advocacy on Capitol Hill, specifically regarding trade policy and agricultural regulations.

Together, these leadership additions and promotions reinforce ABA’s commitment to delivering strong advocacy, innovative programming, and valuable resources that support the continued success of the commercial baking industry.

ABA President and CEO Eric Dell said bringing in exceptional talent is critical to advancing the organization’s vision and creating meaningful experiences for members.

He added that the new team members will play an important role in helping the association deliver on its strategic priorities, including category growth and greater impact across the industry.
