AAVA Hub launches local production of PepsiCo’s Cheetos snack brand

The collaboration between DP World and PepsiCo, which was previously focused on distribution, now includes full-scale manufacturing, signaling a deeper investment in Nigeria’s industrial capacity.

NIGERIA – The AAVA Manufacturing and Distribution hub has officially launched PepsiCo’s popular snack brand Cheetos in Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in the partnership between AAVA, PepsiCo Foods, and global logistics provider DP World.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the state-of-the-art facility in Lagos, underscores AAVA’s growing role as a major player in food manufacturing and distribution in Nigeria and West Africa.

The launch introduces three locally produced Cheetos variants tailored to Nigerian tastes: Cheese, Coconut, and Sour Cream & Onion.

This move not only expands PepsiCo’s footprint in West Africa but also highlights the increasing significance of Nigeria as a regional manufacturing and distribution hub.

AAVA’s facility is designed to meet international standards, featuring advanced production lines and logistics infrastructure that serve both domestic and export markets.

The collaboration between DP World and PepsiCo, which was previously focused on distribution, now includes full-scale manufacturing, signaling a deeper investment in Nigeria’s industrial capacity.

Speaking at the launch, executives from AAVA emphasized the hub’s role in job creation, supply chain efficiency, and economic diversification.

This synergy is expected to fortify the supply chain for Cheetos, ensuring consistent and timely delivery to retail outlets across Nigeria.

This launch aligns with broader industry trends focused on increasing local production and reducing reliance on imports, which helps stimulate job creation, technology transfer, and industrial growth in Nigeria.

By establishing local manufacturing for a globally recognized snack brand, AAVA and its partners are fostering sustainable value creation along the entire product lifecycle, from production to consumer consumption.

DP World, which has been expanding its logistics footprint across Africa, views the AAVA hub as a strategic asset.

“Nigeria is central to our vision for integrated supply chains across the continent,” said DP World’s regional director.

“This launch demonstrates how global partnerships can unlock local potential.”

The Cheetos rollout is expected to be accompanied by a nationwide marketing campaign and retail expansion, with distribution targeting urban centers and emerging markets.

Industry analysts see the move as a signal of confidence in Nigeria’s consumer base and manufacturing capabilities.

Producing three beloved Cheetos flavors domestically will enhance the brand’s market presence and contribute to Nigeria’s growing food manufacturing ecosystem.

With the AAVA hub now operational, Nigeria is well positioned to become a key player in snack production across West Africa, blending global brands with local flavor and industrial ambition.
