Bunge promotes Derrick Augspurger to Vice President of North America Oils

The leadership change comes as Bunge continues to operate across oilseed processing and refining markets.

NORTH AMERICA – Bunge Global SA has promoted Derrick Augspurger to vice president of North America Oils, strengthening its leadership team overseeing the company’s vegetable oil and fats business across the region.

According to World Grain, Augspurger brings 19 years of experience at Bunge, having held several positions across the company’s commercial operations, including soybean oil trading, account management and business leadership.

Augspurger most recently served as general manager for North America Oils, a position he assumed in August 2022.

Previously, he worked as a senior account manager and soybean oil trader, giving him experience in both customer relationships and commodity markets.

His promotion comes as Bunge continues to operate across agricultural commodity sourcing, processing, refining and distribution.

The company connects farmers with food, feed, and fuel markets through an integrated supply chain, with oilseeds and vegetable oils playing an important role in its business.

Bunge’s North American oils operations include soybean and other vegetable oil processing, refining, and speciality oils.

Its products serve a range of customers, including food manufacturers, foodservice businesses, animal feed producers and participants in renewable fuel markets.

The North American market is significant to Bunge’s broader oilseed processing and agricultural trading activities.

In its second-quarter 2026 results, the company reported stronger North American processing performance that more than offset weaker refining results in the region. The results underline the importance of both processing and refining within Bunge’s regional oils operations.

The company sources and handles agricultural commodities from growers, processes oilseeds into vegetable oils and protein meals, and supplies ingredients for food and industrial applications.

Augspurger’s background in soybean oil trading is particularly relevant to an industry influenced by changes in oilseed availability, vegetable oil prices, processing margins and demand from food and biofuel producers.

His account management and general management experience also provides a foundation for overseeing commercial operations and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.

Augspurger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics from the University of Kentucky, according to World Grain.

Bunge, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a global agribusiness company involved in oilseed processing, grain trading and the production and sale of vegetable oils and protein meals.

Its operations connect agricultural producers with downstream customers across food, feed and fuel industries.

The leadership change puts an experienced company executive at the helm of North America Oils as Bunge continues serving customers across the region’s food and agricultural supply chains.

Bunge has not disclosed further details about changes to the North America Oils leadership structure or any new strategic priorities tied to the appointment.
