Mars appoints Kemal Cetin new Digital Chief for its snacking business

This appointment reinforces the company’s focus on accelerating digital transformation and integrating data-driven capabilities across its expanding portfolio.

USAMars, Incorporated has officially announced the appointment of tech industry veteran Kemal Cetin as the new Global Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) for its sprawling US$36 billion Snacking division, effective August 3, 2026.

Cetin will step into the executive role to spearhead the confectionery and food giant’s comprehensive data, digital, and technology frameworks.

Operating out of the Mars Snacking headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, he will report directly to Andrew Clarke, the Global President of Mars Snacking.

Cetin’s primary mandate will be to steer the next chapter of Mars’ ambitious digital roadmap.

He is tasked with accelerating overall business growth, improving customer and employee experiences, and scaling up the integration of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and automated supply chains.

This technological push is particularly critical as Mars continues to consolidate its massive portfolio, which includes iconic brands such as Snickers, M&M’S, Skittles, and Extra, as well as newly acquired assets.

A key focus area for Cetin will be optimizing the integration of Kellanova brands, including Pringles, Cheez-It, and Pop-Tarts, which Mars recently acquired to expand its market share dramatically.

Andrew Clarke emphasized that Cetin’s long-standing track record in driving business agility and complex digital transformations makes him the ideal leader for this pivotal transitional phase.

Clarke noted that Cetin will play an essential role in helping the company make faster, data-backed decisions and build a future-ready digital ecosystem.

Cetin brings nearly 30 years of deep experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector to Mars.

He joins the company from FrieslandCampina, where he served as Global Business and Digital Solutions Officer and was a vital member of its Executive Team.

His extensive international background also includes high-level IT leadership positions across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe for blue-chip organizations such as Diageo, Coca-Cola Enterprises, and Whirlpool.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming role, Cetin stated that he is deeply honoured to join Mars at a time defined by digital evolution.

He expressed a commitment to leveraging data and AI capabilities to drive sustainable growth, optimize consumer engagement, and create lasting value for customers and associates worldwide.

On joining Mars, Kemal Cetin said, “I am honored to join Mars Snacking as its new Chief Digital & Information Officer. Mars has a rich history of innovation and transformation that has accelerated business growth. Together, we will advance the use of digital technologies, data, analytics and AI capabilities to drive sustainable growth and create lasting value for our consumers, customers and Associates.”
