RBS expands leadership team in EMEA to support growing market demand

This strategic move is aimed at boosting the company’s customer care and technical sales capabilities as the global baking industry increasingly prioritizes sustainability, automation, and long-term lifecycle support for equipment.

EMEA – Reading Bakery Systems, or RBS, has expanded its leadership team in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) as it works to strengthen customer care, sales support and long-term regional growth.

The company said the changes are designed to improve service across its installed base and deepen support for customers in a key international market.

As part of the reshuffle, Andrew Walker has joined RBS as customer care manager for EMEA, reporting to Mike Palumbo, Director of Customer Care.

Based in the United Kingdom, Walker brings experience in customer support leadership, technical field operations and aftermarket growth across Europe.

In his new role, he will oversee efforts to improve service responsiveness, strengthen parts support and expand modernization and retrofit initiatives for customers using RBS systems in the region.

RBS said the appointment reflects its continued investment in building a stronger customer care organization.

“Expanding our Customer Care presence in Europe is a critical step in delivering the level of service and long-term partnership our customers expect from RBS,” said Palumbo.

“Andrew’s experience and leadership will play an important role as we continue to build a world-class global customer care organization.”

The company noted that its regional teams play an important role in supporting equipment performance, maintenance, and long-term customer relationships, especially as bakery manufacturers seek reliable service and technical expertise.

In addition, David Welch has been promoted to Director of the Biscuit, Cookie & Cracker Product Line.

In this role, David will lead technical sales strategy and product line development for RBS’s biscuit, cookie, and cracker systems.

He will work closely with global sales teams and lead value-engineering initiatives to enhance competitiveness, improve standardization, and drive long-term product performance.

To support continued growth in the region, Marcus Hofmann has joined RBS as Sales Manager, Europe, succeeding David Welch.

Marcus brings significant experience in industrial\ bakery equipment sales and project management, including turnkey line development, technical sales, and customer project leadership. His background includes leadership roles with MIWE, Heuft Industry, König, and Fritsch Bakery Systems.

The leadership expansion also follows RBS’s broader strategy of enhancing support across EMEA, where the company has been investing in more localized service structures.

The focus on customer care and sales leadership suggests that RBS aims to combine technical support with commercial growth, providing customers with a more responsive, coordinated experience.

The company said these organizational changes are intended to reinforce its presence in the region and improve the full lifecycle support it offers to bakery processors.

RBS added that the new leadership structure will help it better serve customers and continue building a global support model that is closer to end users.
