Pladis appoints new managing director for its American subsidiary

Jeremy will assume his new role at Pladis Americas, effective May 1.

USAPladis, the confectionery and snacking giant, has announced that Jeremy Faa, a seasoned consumer packaged goods (CPG) leader, will take over as the Managing Director of its U.S. operations.

With over 30 years of experience in the food and beverage industry—mostly gained at Coca-Cola, where he served as President of North America (South Zone) until recently—Jeremy has also held several advisory and consultancy roles, including at the technology venture capital fund BridgeTech.

The current Managing Director, Carlos Canals, will transition to a new role as Chief Business Development Officer in the company’s global operations.

This appointment follows a series of leadership changes at Pladis. David Murray, who previously led Pladis UK and Ireland, was appointed as the global Chief Commercial Officer.

In this newly established position, Murray will oversee the company’s global platform and brand strategy, as well as its commercial transformation.

Additionally, Mete Buyurgan was named the new Managing Director for Pladis in Britain and Ireland, starting April 6.

Buyurgan, an eight-year veteran at Pladis, has moved from his previous role managing the company’s operations in Turkey, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia since 2016.

Under Buyurgan’s leadership, Pladis Türkiye, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia have experienced revenue and profit growth despite significant challenges, positioning the company at the forefront of sustainability discussions.

Pladis Americas, which employs 600 people and is headquartered in White Plains, NY, operates two manufacturing facilities in New York State and Pennsylvania.

As one of the world’s fastest-growing snacking companies, Pladis boasts a portfolio of beloved brands, including McVitie’s, GODIVA, and Carr’s, sold in over 110 countries. The company also owns U.S. regional brands Flipz and Turtles.

Founded in 2016, Pladis employs a team of 16,000 across 27 bakeries and factories in 11 countries. In the most recent financial year, ending in 2023, Pladis reported group revenue exceeding £2.7 billion (approximately US$3.4 billion).

These leadership changes follow the announcement on February 24, 2025, that CEO Salman Amin stepped down for personal reasons.

Amin had served with the company for six years, having joined as Chief Executive in February 2019. Prior to that, he was a non-executive director at ITV.
