IMCD appoints Andreas Igerl to lead EMEA region

Effective September 2025, Andreas Igerl will assume the role of Regional President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, while Narendra Varde will step into the leadership position for the Asia-Pacific region.

NETHERLANDS – International-Müller Chemical Distribution (IMCD), a global leading partner for the distribution and formulation of speciality chemicals and ingredients, has appointed Andreas Igerl as Regional President Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) as of September 1, 2025, and as Leader of the global Industrial Business Groups, with effect progressively throughout 2025. 

Narendra Varde has been named Regional President for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, with the appointment taking effect on September 1, 2025, following the tenure of Andreas Igerl.

Andreas Igerl, the current Regional President for the Asia-Pacific region and a member of the IMCD Executive Committee, has led the region to significant achievements. His tenure has been marked by robust regional performance, effective implementation of strategic plans, and enhanced collaboration across teams.

Andreas Igerl currently holds the position of Regional President for the Asia-Pacific region and is a member of the IMCD Executive Committee. Throughout his leadership, the region has experienced strong growth, successful strategic execution, and improved cross-functional teamwork.

Andreas Igerl said, “I’m excited to take on this next chapter at IMCD. EMEA is a region which has always been incredibly important for IMCD and still has a huge potential. Bringing our Industrial Business Groups closer together gives us a great opportunity to accelerate collaboration and unlock new value across the markets we serve. Commencing in 2025, the leadership of IMCD’s global Industrial Business Groups will gradually transition to Andreas Igerl. This strategic move is designed to enhance strategic coherence, accelerate the execution of priorities, and foster market collaboration.

This transition underscores IMCD’s unwavering commitment to agility, efficiency, and a strong focus on both customers and suppliers as it continues to expand globally.

 

Narendra Varde to lead APAC region

Effective September 1, 2025, Narendra Varde, currently serving as Managing Director for India, will assume the role of Regional President for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, succeeding Andreas Igerl.

He has played a pivotal role in advancing IMCD India through strategic leadership and team development, and he is set to carry forward this momentum by fostering continued growth and operational excellence across the APAC region.

Narendra Varde added, “I’m honoured to step into the role of Regional President APAC and build on the strong momentum already in place. Together with our teams and partners across the region, I’m looking forward to driving impactful growth, staying deeply connected with our customers and suppliers, and pushing boundaries for a continued progress together.”

The announcement of his successor as Managing Director for India will be made at an appropriate time.
