USA – Kellanova, a leading company in global snacking, international cereal and noodles, and North American frozen foods, with iconic, world-class brands, has unveiled a new lineup of whole-grain-rich snacks tailored for K-12 foodservice programs in a bold move to support healthier school meals.
The initiative was announced at the 2025 School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference (ANC) in San Antonio.
The launch reflects the company’s commitment to practical, nutrition-forward solutions that meet USDA guidelines while satisfying student cravings.
Under its Kellanova Away From Home portfolio, the brand introduced standout products for the 2025–26 school year, including Cheez-It Spicy Buffalo crackers and Kellogg’s Scooby-Doo! Baked Graham Cracker Snacks Chocolate.
The Cheez-It crackers pack 8 grams of whole grain per serving and deliver the bold flavor of hot pepper sauce blended with aged cheese, an answer to the growing demand for spicy snacks among students.
Meanwhile, the Scooby-Doo grahams offer a lightly sweet, chocolatey crunch that ranks high among kids’ favorite sweet snacks.
“At Kellanova, we’re passionate about fueling better school days with food kids love and nutrition operators can feel good about,” said Jessica Waller, GM of Kellanova Away From Home.
“Our new offerings put whole grains front and center while bringing bold flavors to trusted brands like Cheez-It. We’re constantly thinking about practical solutions to nutritional requirements and student taste preferences we can offer that make it easier for K-12 operators to serve meals that are both nourishing and delicious.”
Looking ahead to the 2026 – 27 school year, Kellanova previewed additional innovations, including Cheez-It Pizza crackers, Cheez-It Walking Taco pouches, and bulk cases of original Cheez-It crackers made with whole grain.
These products are designed to support speed-scratch cooking, giving food service directors more flexibility and creativity in menu planning.
Also joining the lineup are MorningStar Farms Whole Grain Breaded Chik’n Patties, available in Original and Spicy varieties.
These plant-based options feature crispy whole grain panko breading and offer a flavorful, meat-free alternative that aligns with evolving student preferences and dietary needs.
“Our innovation is both student-approved and operator-friendly,” added Lisa Favia, senior director of commercial strategy for Kellanova Away From Home.
Kellanova’s booth at ANC 2025 featured recipe demos such as Sunrise Cheezaquiles and Spicy Chik’n Banh Mi Sandwiches, showcasing how these products can be integrated into diverse, appealing school menus.
Additionally, the company hosted educational sessions led by nutrition experts to highlight the importance of whole grains in student diets.
With this expanded portfolio, Kellanova continues to position itself as a leader in K-12 foodservice innovation, delivering nutritious, flavorful snacks that are ready to meet the demands of modern school kitchens.
