Kuwait Flour Mills & Bakeries Company expands its product portfolio across nationwide outlets

KFMB has been granted permission to utilise designated areas for the manufacturing and storage of industrial products related to its operations.

KUWAIT – Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company (KFMB) has received approval from the Municipal Council’s Technical Committee to broaden its operational scope across all bakery locations in the country, in a strategic move to enhance consumer experience and diversify its product portfolio.

The decision allows KFMB to introduce a wider range of food and beverage services, including the retail sale of all company-manufactured products, as well as hot and cold beverages, pies, pastries, and sweets, along with the operation of oven-based and traditional tandoor-style bakeries.

This expansion aligns with Kuwait’s broader urban development goals and reflects the company’s commitment to meeting evolving consumer preferences.

In addition to retail enhancements, KFMB has been granted permission to utilise designated areas for the manufacturing and storage of industrial products related to its operations.

However, this approval is contingent upon securing clearances from the Ministry of Finance, the Public Authority for Industry, and other relevant regulatory bodies.

To ensure compliance and integration with Kuwait’s urban planning framework, the committee outlined several conditions:

  • Submission of detailed layout plans for approval by the Urban Planning Department
  • Authorisation for technical staff to adjust activity labels in line with the Ministry of Commerce and the Public Authority for Industry codes
  • Fulfilment of all contractual obligations with the State Property Department
  • Revocation of any previous decisions that conflict with the newly approved activities

Engineer Munira Al-Amir, chair of the Technical Committee, also confirmed the approval of a proposal by Engineer Alia Al-Farsi to launch an awareness campaign on Kuwait’s Fourth Master Plan.

This initiative aims to educate citizens and stakeholders about the plan’s objectives and implementation phases, reinforcing the country’s commitment to transparent and inclusive urban development.

The committee’s recommendations are part of a broader effort to stimulate economic growth, modernise commercial infrastructure, and support local food services.

KFMB’s expanded offerings are expected to boost foot traffic at bakery outlets, create new job opportunities, and reinforce the company’s role as a cornerstone of Kuwait’s food security strategy.

With this green light, Kuwait Flour Mills is poised to become not just a provider of staple goods but a dynamic player in the country’s evolving culinary landscape.
