IMCD strengthens global innovation with new Türkiye Technical Centre, reports robust Q1 2026 results

The Technical Centre consolidates the food & nutrition, beauty & personal care, and coatings & construction laboratories, previously operating from separate locations, into a single, expanded facility with enhanced scope and technical equipment.

TÜRKİYE – IMCD Group, a global leading partner for the distribution and formulation of specialty chemicals and ingredients, has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art Technical Centre in Istanbul, Türkiye.

This strategic expansion coincides with the company’s recent first-quarter 2026 financial report, which highlights resilient operating performance with EBITA of EUR 130 million (US$152.71M), underscoring IMCD’s dual focus on technical excellence and commercial growth.

The new Technical Centre, located in Istanbul’s Ataşehir district, serves as a consolidated hub for innovation.

It brings together formerly separate laboratories for food and nutrition, beauty and personal care, and coatings and construction into a single, high-tech facility.

The facility aims to accelerate formulation development and enhance customer collaboration in the region.

By integrating its laboratories and expanding capabilities, IMCD aims to strengthen its position in the local market and support customers from concept to commercialization.

The Food & Nutrition Applications Laboratory combines global trend insights with technical expertise to support manufacturers in developing innovative food and beverage solutions.

Serving key segments including dairy, bakery, beverages, confectionery, and meat & savory applications, the laboratory focuses on optimizing taste, texture, nutritional value, and functionality.

The facility provides formulation development, pilot trials, ingredient optimization, and ready-to-use prototype concepts.

Notably, the center marks the debut of a dedicated pharmaceuticals laboratory acting as regional centre serving the local market, in addition to the Middle East, Maghreb, Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa.

Additionally, the center includes Beauty & Personal Care Laboratory and Beauty Studio, and Coatings & Construction Laboratory established within the Centre, further strengthening its technical and innovation capabilities.

By centralizing these diverse technical capabilities, IMCD aims to accelerate product time-to-market for its regional partners while fostering a culture of formulation expertise.

IMCD frames the new centre as part of its global network of more than 80 technical centers and laboratories, reinforcing the company’s commitment to local innovation and customer support while leveraging global expertise.

Aylin Zakuto, Managing Director of IMCD Türkiye, emphasized the country’s geographical advantage and qualified workforce, noting IMCD’s 21‑year presence in Türkiye and a local team of more than 100 people who will support customers from concept to market through training, seminars and technical services.

Financially, IMCD has demonstrated stability despite a volatile global landscape. For the first three months of 2026, the company reported revenues of EUR 1,267 million (US$1,488.45M), representing a 6% increase on a constant currency basis, while gross profit came in at EUR 312 million (US$366.54M), up 1% on a constant currency basis.

While the operating EBITA of EUR 130 million (US$152.71M) saw a slight 2% dip compared to the exceptionally strong first quarter of 2025, the company achieved a significant 19% increase in free cash flow, reaching EUR 121 million (US$142.15M).

During the quarter, IMCD also completed the acquisitions of Dong Yang FT in South Korea and Willows Ingredients in Ireland, adding further scale to its global operations.

Commenting on the results, CEO Marcus Jordan said: “We have delivered a solid Q1, against strong Q1 2025 comparables, with increased free cash flow and a robust cash conversion margin. Global uncertainty persists, further intensified by the recent conflict in the Middle East, and in these challenging times, it is critical to remain a reliable partner for both customers and suppliers. Supported by our diversified business model and advanced digital and supply chain management capabilities, we will continue to create value for our stakeholders.”

Additionally, IMCD Group announced the appointment of Reanne Rust as Managing Director for Canada, effective 1 May 2026.
