The company wants to tap to Jordan’s geographic advantage, connecting markets like Palestine, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, making it an ideal hub for regional distribution.

EGYPT – The Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates is making bold strides to deepen its presence in the Middle East, selecting Jordan as a strategic launchpad for its regional expansion.
This move comes as Egyptian food industry exports to Jordan surged by over 30%, signaling robust demand and untapped potential in the market.
The group marked this milestone with its debut at the InftExpo 2025 International Food and Food Technology Exhibition, held in Jordan from August 12 to 14, 2025. The event served as a platform for the company to showcase its flagship products, pasta and concentrates, and forge critical partnerships with Jordanian importers and distributors.
Ahmed Younis, representing the Egyptian Swiss Group’s Export Department, emphasized Jordan’s pivotal role in the company’s global strategy. “Jordan is not just an export destination; it’s a cornerstone for our expansion across the Middle East,” Younis said.
He highlighted Jordan’s geographic advantage, connecting markets like Palestine, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, making it an ideal hub for regional distribution.
Last year, Jordan ranked seventh among Egypt’s top food product importers, with US$247 million in imports, a 32% increase from the previous year. In the first half of 2025, Jordan climbed to sixth place, importing US$135 million worth of Egyptian goods, a 20% rise.
The Egyptian Swiss Group is adopting a deliberate strategy in Jordan, focusing on gradually scaling its export volumes while prioritizing pasta and concentrates.
“Our goal is to build a strong foundation through strategic partnerships with leading Jordanian importers,” Younis explained. This approach aims to ensure sustainable growth while capitalizing on Jordan’s dynamic trade infrastructure.
Abanoub Gerges, also from the Export Department, described InftExpo 2025 as a “golden opportunity” to establish new relationships and explore broader cooperation. “The exhibition allowed us to connect with key players in Jordan’s food sector, paving the way for sustainable export channels to neighboring markets,” Gerges said.
A highlight of the event was the visit by Zuhair Harb, Director General of the Jordan Foodstuffs Traders Association, to the group’s pavilion. His presence signaled Jordan’s openness to deepening ties with Egyptian manufacturers, particularly for high-quality, competitively priced products like those from the Egyptian Swiss Group.
Gerges noted that Jordan’s high purchasing power and strong demand for sauces align perfectly with the group’s product portfolio. “Our concentrates and sauces have a clear competitive edge in this market,” he said, adding that success in Jordan could unlock opportunities in wider regional markets.
Founded in 1995, the Egyptian Swiss Group has grown from a grain and flour trader into one of Egypt’s leading food manufacturers.
With state-of-the-art facilities in Assiut, Borg El Arab, and 10th of Ramadan City, the group operates advanced European production lines and fully automated processes.
Its portfolio includes a pasta factory producing 8,000 tons monthly, a sauce and concentrates facility with a 3,000-ton monthly capacity, and wheat silos storing up to 50,000 tons. Over 80% of its output is exported to more than 40 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
