New system focuses on high capacity, cleaner operation, and easier maintenance.

DENMARK – Grain handling solutions company, Cimbria, has introduced its GX Belt Conveyor as grain and seed facilities face growing pressure to move larger volumes while meeting stricter environmental standards.
The new system offers a capacity range of 200 to 3720 cubic metres per hour and reaches belt speeds of up to 3 metres per second. Cimbria designed it for large scale operations such as ports, export terminals, and processing plants where steady flow and careful handling remain critical.
The GX combines enclosed conveying with a modular structure that allows operators to adjust the system to different plant layouts. Instead of building several custom units, Cimbria created a standard base with interchangeable sections. This setup supports different inlet designs, discharge points, and capacity needs while keeping parts simple.
As Laszlo Talaber, Product Owner at Cimbria, explains, “The goal was to build one base conveyor that can be adapted in many ways, instead of designing many different conveyors for similar applications.” He adds that this approach helps reduce complexity in both installation and maintenance.
The enclosed design also helps facilities manage dust and reduce material loss. By keeping grain contained during transport, operators can maintain cleaner work areas and meet stricter environmental rules. The system also supports gentle handling, which helps limit damage to the product.
Cimbria has also focused on keeping material moving through the system. The GX includes a self-emptying design that reduces build-up inside the conveyor. This improves flow and lowers wear on key parts.
Daniel Nemeth, Engineering Manager in Budapest, says, “We wanted a design where material keeps moving, not staying inside the system. That is essential for stable and efficient operation in high-capacity applications.” He notes that this helps reduce energy use and supports more stable performance over time.
The GX also features a loader section that reduces impact when material enters the belt, along with components that guide product evenly to limit spillage. Inspection points allow faster checks and help reduce downtime.
The launch also fills a gap in Cimbria’s product range. “This was a missing part of our offering. With GX, we can now deliver a complete conveyor solution in-house for high-capacity enclosed applications,” Nemeth says.
The development follows Cimbria’s recent work in India, where it delivered a five tonne per hour seed processing line for Shambavi Agri Seeds.
The project helped the company shift from rented facilities to its own operation, improving control over production and quality as volumes grew.
