Cimbria appoints Lars Dithmer as president as company targets growth in key markets

DENMARK – Cimbria has appointed Lars Dithmer as its new president, bringing nearly two decades of international leadership experience to the grain, seed and food processing equipment company.

The Denmark-based business, which operates under Grain & Protein Technologies (GPT), said Dithmer will lead the next phase of its growth as demand rises for advanced processing, sorting and handling systems across global agricultural markets.

Before joining Cimbria, Dithmer served as president of the food systems business unit at Alfa Laval. During his career, he held leadership roles across Europe and Asia, including several years in India as managing director.

Jacob Thomas, chief executive officer of GPT, welcomed the appointment and said Dithmer’s experience would support the company’s long-term plans.

“Lars is a proven global leader with a strong track record of driving growth, building high-performing teams, and delivering customer-focused innovation,” Thomas said.

“His international experience, strategic mindset, and passion for operational success make him the right leader to guide Cimbria through its next chapter of growth and strengthen its position as a leading global brand.”

Thomas added that Cimbria remains an important part of GPT’s long-term strategy and said the parent company plans to continue investing in the business and expanding its global presence.

Dithmer said Cimbria’s strong market position and customer relationships attracted him to the role.

Cimbria supplies equipment and complete processing systems to seed companies, grain handlers, food processors, coffee processors and industrial businesses. Its portfolio includes cleaning and treatment equipment, dryers, optical sorters, material handling systems and complete processing plants.

Looking ahead, Dithmer identified Europe and North America as important markets for future growth while also pointing to Brazil’s role as a major agricultural producer.

“Europe remains a core region for us, and we see strong opportunities to deepen our presence and expand our partnerships,” he said.

Dithmer also highlighted increasing interest in automation and smart processing technologies as companies seek to improve efficiency while meeting stricter requirements on product purity, safety and traceability.
