Kenya currently imposes a 50% ad-valorem duty on maize imports from countries outside the East African Community (EAC), in line with the EAC’s Common External Tariff (CET).
The facility is equipped with two corn silos holding a combined 12,000 metric tons of corn and space for 480,000 sacks of feed.
Wheat consumption is forecast to rebound in 2025-26 to 109 million tonnes, recovering from last year’s dip to 104 million tonnes.
Total domestic corn consumption is forecast to rise to 89.5 million tonnes, reflecting stronger demand.
