CESCO’s construction for Molino Chiavazza approaches completion

The facility is being built on the site of a former aluminum foundry, which is being repurposed for sustainable agricultural use.

ITALY – Construction is progressing rapidly at the new Molino Chiavazza facility in Torino, Northern Italy, where CESCO is overseeing the installation of a modern agricultural infrastructure plant.

The project has reached a significant milestone with the completion of eleven corrugated steel sheet round silos, each measuring 12.2 meters in diameter, along with four additional outloading silos, each measuring 6.1 meters in diameter. Most of the associated chain conveyors have also been installed.

The project aims to modernize agricultural and industrial infrastructure and includes the following features:

– A Silo Storage Section for a mill plant, enabling the storage, unloading, mixing, and homogenization of cereals, with plans for future expansion to store protein flours for feed applications.

– Mixed truck and train intake facilities that provide energy savings and reduced emissions through a railway connection.

– Eleven corrugated steel sheet round silos with hopper bottoms (12.2 meters in diameter) and four truck outloading silos, offering a total combined storage capacity of 25,000 tonnes.

– Silos equipped with ventilation systems for air or carbon dioxide ventilation, ensuring the safe and chemical-free storage of cereals, making them ideal for bio-products.

– Advanced conveying equipment, including chain conveyors, bucket elevators, and belt conveyors, with a maximum capacity of 400 tonnes per hour.

– Complete steel supporting structures.

The project is scheduled for completion in late summer and is designed to support hygienic storage and logistics operations, in line with broader goals of environmental sustainability and infrastructure modernization.

This initiative reflects CESCO’s commitment to sustainability, operational efficiency, and innovation in agricultural infrastructure, as stated by the company.

The facility is part of a larger redevelopment effort to convert former industrial zones into more sustainable and technologically advanced operations.

Established in 1989 to supply industrial automation products and electronic components throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, CESCO has become one of the leading companies in instrumentation and control, providing integrated industrial solutions, support services, and spare parts supply.

“It is exciting to witness the speed and quality of the erection on site. This plant is not only symbolic of the transformation of former heavy industry facilities into modern, green, and sustainable infrastructure; it also serves as a prime example of efficient transshipment terminals, enabling both millers and logistics operators to transfer grain and protein meals from rail to truck quickly and safely, and to store them under hygienic conditions. We look forward to the successful completion of this strategic plant in late summer,” said Martino Celeghini, chief executive officer of CESCO.
