Broadway Bakery Ltd receives Global Quality Recognition from ESQR
The recognition of Broadway Bakery Limited was celebrated at the Quality Achievements Awards 2025, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
KENYA – Broadway Bakery Limited, a prominent Kenyan baking company known for its artisanal breads and baked goods, has received international recognition from the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR), securing the Quality Achievements Award 2025 in the Gold Category.
The accolade was announced following Broadway’s selection among organisations worldwide for its performance in quality management and operational excellence.
The European Society for Quality Research, headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, evaluates and honours institutions, companies and administrations that demonstrate high standards in quality practices, leadership and continuous improvement across diverse sectors.
ESQR engages professionals from more than 140 countries and recognises excellence through an annual awards programme spanning multiple categories. Selection is based on ESQR’s assessment of performance, strategies and documented outcomes that demonstrate measurable quality improvements.

In announcements shared on the company’s social media platforms, Broadway noted that the global recognition reflects its longstanding commitment to quality, innovation and consistency in product standards.
According to the company,the award positions the company “from our ovens to the world stage,” emphasising its role as a producer that aligns artisanal tradition with rigorous quality frameworks.
For Broadway, receiving this recognition reinforces its reputation beyond national borders and places the bakery among a diverse group of global awardees.
The recognition comes after the company, in 2025 and 2024, received the “Bread Brand of the Year” award at the FMCG Brands Kenya Awards 2024-2025 and the prestigious Innovation Award from Lesaffre, respectively.
Established over 60 years ago by the Shah family, Broadway has grown from a small bakery producing scones to a significant player in Kenya’s bread market, producing up to 240,000 loaves daily.
The company has a history of embracing cutting-edge technologies, such as automated bread production lines sourced from Dutch supplier Royal Kaak, which was implemented to streamline production while meeting high demand.
This technological investment has been instrumental in maintaining Broadways’ position in the market, enabling the company to deliver quality products consistently while managing high-capacity production.
