Angel Yeast releases 2025 Sustainability Report as company marks 40th anniversary

The report covers the period January 1 to December 31, 2025, and is presented as the company’s second ESG focused sustainability disclosure, aligning its disclosures with national and international reporting standards.

CHINA – Angel Yeast, a Shanghai Stock Exchange-listed biotechnology company and a prominent global yeast manufacturer, officially released its 2025 Sustainability Report in mid-June 2026.

The publication coincides with the company’s landmark 40th anniversary and details its recent environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) achievements.

Organized under four overarching pillars; Stable Development, Strong Momentum, Green Ecosystem, and Warm Care, the report highlights the organization’s comprehensive efforts to weave sustainable frameworks directly into its global production value chain and daily corporate governance.

The multinational biotech firm has detailed a rigorous climate roadmap in the document, emphasizing corporate targets to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve full carbon neutrality across operations by 2059.

In the 2025 operational year alone, Angel Yeast successfully implemented 46 targeted energy-efficiency and carbon-mitigation projects.

These capital investments yielded measurable reductions, saving more than 10,000 megawatt-hours of electrical energy, 131,400 tonnes of industrial steam, and approximately 20,700 tonnes of coal, resulting in a total carbon reduction of 27,657 tonnes.

To support these low-carbon milestones, the enterprise has systematically deployed alternative energy systems, including large-scale biomass and solar power installations, alongside a comprehensive life-cycle carbon footprint evaluation architecture.

Beyond internal emissions management, Angel Yeast has heavily prioritized a circular economy model and localized manufacturing infrastructure to optimize international logistics.

The company transforms raw agricultural materials into high-value food ingredients, while repurposing process byproducts back into local agricultural systems as value-added applications.

Strategically expanding its production capability, the company is building a manufacturing site in Indonesia to satisfy South Asian demand, alongside a specialized research and development center in Belgium.

Concurrently, the manufacturer has heavily expanded its focus on precision fermentation technologies, positioning its proprietary yeast protein line as an affordable, climate-resilient alternative protein source for sports nutrition and plant-based foods.

The firm’s long-term sustainability performance recently earned a Silver Medal rating from the global sustainability evaluation agency EcoVadis.

This assessment placed Angel Yeast in the top 15% of all surveyed companies worldwide, including the top 6% in its sector and the top 2% for sustainable procurement, as verified by the fact that 100% of its active suppliers have signed its Sustainable Procurement Code of Conduct.

Additionally, the corporate group actively contributed to the drafting and publication of ISO 23983:2025, which serves as the premier global benchmark for baking yeast quality assurance in the international market.
