Alapala commissions 300 TPD flour mill in Cameroon, expands technology offering with Anton Paar partnership

The new facility is designed to produce a wide range of high-quality flours tailored to retail channels and the local market.

CAMEROON – Alapala has completed and handed over a 300-tonnes-per-day (TPD) turnkey wheat flour mill in Douala, Cameroon, underlining Alapala’s focus on capacity delivery in emerging markets.

Designed and delivered on a full turnkey basis, the facility represents one of Alapala’s recent large-scale projects in Central Africa and is equipped with fully automated milling systems.

Executed on an end-to-end basis, the project scope covered process and plant engineering, equipment manufacturing and supply, installation and site coordination, electrical and automation integration, commissioning, startup support and operator training.

According to the company, the plant is engineered to deliver high operational efficiency, consistent flour quality and enhanced food safety performance, aligning with increasingly stringent market and regulatory expectations in the region.

Cameroon remains a structurally wheat-deficit market, relying heavily on imported wheat to meet domestic demand for flour used in bread, pasta and other staple products. Investments in modern milling infrastructure have therefore become critical to improving supply reliability, reducing processing losses and supporting local food value chains.

The Douala project adds significant industrial capacity at a key logistics hub, given the city’s role as Cameroon’s main port and commercial centre.

Alapala said the project reinforces its position as a global supplier of integrated milling solutions, particularly in Africa, where demand for modern, energy-efficient flour mills continues to grow.

This turnkey project reflects our commitment to delivering advanced milling technologies that support capacity growth and product quality across Africa,” said Görkem Alapala, chief executive officer of Alapala. “We are proud to contribute to the development of industrial food processing infrastructure in the region.”

The company has delivered multiple wheat and maize milling projects across West, East and Central Africa over the past decade, driven by population growth, urbanisation and rising consumption of processed cereal products.

Alapala announces strategic new partnership with Anton Paar

Alongside project delivery, Alapala Holding has recently announced a strategic new solution partnership with Anton Paar.

Under the agreement, Alapala’s Depart division will offer Anton Paar’s high-precision laboratory and process measurement instruments across Turkiye and the wider region.

Anton Paar is widely recognised for its analytical equipment used in quality control, research and production environments, including instruments relevant to grain, flour and food processing applications.

The partnership is expected to strengthen Alapala’s end-to-end offering by integrating advanced laboratory and process analytics with milling plant design, equipment supply and after-sales support.

This approach reflects a broader industry shift toward tighter quality assurance, traceability and data-driven process optimisation across the grain and flour milling sector.

This partnership with Anton Paar takes our commitment to quality and reliability to the next level. We are delighted to deliver significantly higher added value to both our industry and customers with our expanded product portfolio,” said Cengiz Tiryakioğlu, General Manager of Depart.

By combining large-scale milling project execution with access to advanced measurement and laboratory technologies, Alapala is positioning itself to support millers not only in increasing capacity, but also in improving product consistency, food safety and operational control.
