AIB International appoints Aaron K. Edwards as new CEO

His leadership is expected to help the organization address increasingly complex demands in food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

USA – AIB International, a nonprofit leader in food safety, quality assurance, and bakery research for over a century, has named Aaron K. Edwards as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2025.

Edwards steps into the role with nearly 30 years of global expertise across food, beverage, and nutrition ingredients, poised to drive innovation and client value amid evolving supply chain challenges.

Edwards’ tenure at Vibrant Ingredients, formerly Florida Food Products (FFP), as President honed his skills in mergers, market expansion, and operational excellence, while his 25 years at Ingredion spanned leadership in North America, Europe, and Asia, focusing on growth and team-building.

This blend of scientific acumen and commercial savvy equips him to address rising demands in regulatory compliance and food safety standards.

Brad Allen, Chair of the AIB Holdings Inc. Board, praised Edwards’ collaborative style: “His global mindset positions AIB to guide clients through complex transitions.”

Under Edwards, AIB aims to accelerate its mission by delivering deeper insights from startups to multinational brands through advanced training, GMP audits, and R&D services.

“We’ll move faster, innovate bolder, and help clients define industry standards,” Edwards affirmed, emphasizing resilience in a US$8 trillion global food system strained by geopolitics and sustainability pressures.

Tameka Carr, AIB Board of Trustees Chair, added that his leadership will expand global reach in research and education.

The appointment aligns with the bakery and ingredient sectors’ 6% annual growth, where AIB’s Manhattan labs and international audits serve 10,000+ clients.

Edwards inherits a legacy of pioneering grain science and safety protocols, now amplified by digital tools for real-time compliance.

Industry peers anticipate enhanced partnerships, potentially boosting AIB’s role in clean-label trends and AI-driven quality control.

As food manufacturers navigate recalls and traceability mandates, Edwards’ strategic vision promises fortified supply chains.

AIB’s nonprofit ethos endures, empowering safer innovation from farm to fork.

As AIB International continues to expand its influence in the food safety sector, Edwards’ leadership is expected to play a key role in shaping the organization’s future and reinforcing its reputation as a trusted partner to the global food industry.
