Ülker opens direct distribution center in Uzbekistan aiming for market expansion

This center, along with a wide network of dealers, will allow Ülker to deliver its products to thousands of consumers across 12 different cities in the country.

UZBEKISTAN – Ülker, Turkey’s leading food company, has taken a significant step to reach consumers in Uzbekistan, by opening a Direct Distribution Center in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital.

After successfully operating a chocolate and biscuit factory in Kazakhstan for 25 years, Ülker has decided to tap into the Uzbekistan market, which the company has identified as an important market in the region known for its large population and growing trade potential.

The opening ceremony for the company’s warehouse and sales office in Tashkent was attended by prominent figures, including Suavi Önal, Chief Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Tashkent,

Other attendees were: Murat Ülker, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pladis and GODIVA; Özgür Kölükfakı, CEO of Ülker; Mario Reis, Global Supply Chain Leader of Pladis; and Yavuz Yurtgüder, Vice President responsible for Central Asia of Pladis.

Özgür Kölükfakı, CEO of Ülker, emphasized that their investments in Uzbekistan—one of the fastest-growing markets in Central Asia—will significantly contribute to the company’s growth goals in the region.

He noted the importance of forming strong business partnerships and developing strategies tailored to local needs in order to strengthen the company’s presence in a dynamic and high-potential market like Uzbekistan, which has a population nearing 38 million.

Through the newly established Direct Sales Distribution Center, Ülker aims to deliver its 105 different products to 5,000 sales points in Tashkent alone, and to expand this to 25,000 sales points in other cities through regional distributors, with regular weekly visits planned in the first year.

The company seeks to establish a lasting presence in Uzbekistan, which has become an attractive center for investors due to recent economic reforms.

Founded in 2016, Ülker is one of the fastest-growing snack companies in the world. The company operates 27 factories across 11 countries and employs a global workforce of 16,000.

With a total of 300 years of snacking experience, it encompasses iconic brands such as Ülker, McVitie’s, and Godiva, along with regional brands like Jacob’s, Go Ahead, Flipz, Turtles, BN, and Verkade, offering a wide range of products including sweet and savory cookies, cakes, and chocolates.
