Mr. Carter assumes the role from Luis Viso, who joined The Marzetti Company as Chief Supply Chain Officer in 2023 and will retire later this year.

USA – The Marzetti Company has officially announced the appointment of Mark Carter as its new Chief Supply Chain Officer, effective July 13, 2026.
Taking the helm at the company’s executive headquarters, Carter will assume direct responsibility for leading the group’s comprehensive, end-to-end global supply chain organization.
The critical executive transition is structured to reinforce Marzetti’s ongoing corporate growth trajectory and manufacturing efficiency while maintaining its strict corporate benchmarks for consumer safety and product quality.
Carter joins Marzetti with an extensive professional background, bringing more than 25 years of specialized operational experience within the competitive consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
Most recently, he served as the Chief Supply Chain Officer at Schwan’s Company, where he successfully managed end-to-end industrial logistics, procurement, and manufacturing workflows across a network of 18 production sites.
Prior to that tenure, Carter spent 18 years at multinational food giant Unilever, executing multiple executive leadership assignments, including Senior Vice President of Supply Chain for the North American ice cream business and Head of Supply Chain Operations for Canada.
In his new capacity, Carter succeeds industry veteran Luis Viso, who originally stepped into the C-suite role in 2023 and is scheduled to formally retire later this year following an illustrious 43-year career in the global food and beverage sector.
Carter’s primary mandate will involve driving widespread productivity gains across Marzetti’s industrial network and simplifying distribution frameworks to support the company’s expanding brand portfolio, which includes retail staples like Marzetti dressings, New York Bakery garlic breads, and Sister Schubert’s dinner rolls, as well as major licensed food service partnerships.
Dave Ciesinski, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Marzetti Company, expressed strong enthusiasm for the incoming executive appointment.
Ciesinski emphasized that Carter represents a powerful strategic addition to the corporate leadership team, highlighting that his unique blend of deep, factory-based operational expertise and broad, enterprise-level logistics leadership makes him the ideal candidate to build upon the systemic supply chain simplifications achieved over the last three fiscal years.
In February, Marzetti Company appointsed Greg Hughes to board of directors.
