Marzetti Company appoints Greg Hughes to board of directors

The Marzetti board said his appointment will strengthen its strategic capabilities as the company pursues growth across retail and foodservice channels

USA – The Marzetti Company, a prominent player in specialty foods renowned for brands such as Marzetti dressings, Sister Schubert’s dinner rolls, and New York Bakery garlic breads, has appointed Greg Hughes to its Board of Directors.

Based in Westerville, Ohio, the firm specializes in retail dressings and dips, licensed sauces for chains such as Olive Garden and Chick-fil-A, and foodservice products supplied to major US restaurants.

Hughes brings extensive leadership from Suntory Global Spirits, where he serves as President and CEO since 2023, having joined in 2015 as Chief Growth and Brands Officer and later President of North America.

His prior roles at Kraft and Bel Brands honed his expertise in marketing, brand development, and operational excellence, positioning him to guide Marzetti’s growth strategy amid the competitive dynamics of the consumer-packaged goods industry.

“We are thrilled to welcome Greg to the Marzetti Board,” stated Alan Harris, Chairman.

“His experience leading food and beverage companies will be a tremendous asset.”

Marzetti’s portfolio thrives on innovation, with 3,700 employees driving its mission to “nourish growth” through flavorful, high-quality meals.

Hughes’ beverage background complements expansion into premium, indulgent baked goods and sauces, aligning with trends in clean-label and licensed products, fueling double-digit retail sales growth.
