Paul Kamm named CEO of SafeGrain

Kamm succeeds Zachary Carr, who has moved into the role of chairman of the board and will continue providing strategic guidance and oversight as the company enters its next phase of development.

USASafeGrain has appointed Paul Kamm as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a planned leadership transition at the Dayton, Ohio-based grain monitoring and safety equipment manufacturer.

Kamm steps into the role after serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, where he managed internal operations, production expansion, and corporate strategic direction.

He succeeds Zachary Carr, who had led the organization through key acquisition and digital transformation phases.

Following the leadership change, Carr will transition into a new role as Chairman of the Board, remaining involved in long-term strategic planning and governance.

The leadership handover is a deliberate, planned transition designed to maintain continuity while driving operational efficiency and technological growth across the agricultural quality control sector.

During his tenure as COO, Kamm played a pivotal role in streamlining production and integrating advanced hazard monitoring systems designed to protect commercial grain facilities, equipment, and storage inventories.

In taking on the CEO position, Kamm reaffirmed the company’s core mission of equipping grain handlers with modern safety, temperature sensing, and automated aeration controls.

The change comes as SafeGrain continues to expand its market presence and technology portfolio across North America.

Over recent years, the company has broadened its solution offerings beyond traditional analog hazard systems to include digital sensor integration, wireless inventory management dashboards, and specialized flat-storage sensors developed through global technical partnerships.

Company leadership noted that the leadership transition positions the brand to capture emerging opportunities in precision agriculture, where automated risk monitoring and grain quality preservation are becoming essential standard practices for commercial elevator operators and farmers alike.

Outgoing CEO Zachary Carr expressed full confidence in Kamm’s appointment, noting that his deep familiarity with operations and close alignment with customer needs make him uniquely qualified to lead the organization’s next growth phase.

The executive leadership team confirmed that daily operations will continue without disruption as the firm accelerates product development initiatives to improve safety standards and reduce post-harvest losses across global grain supply chains.

The company has also expanded its technology offering in recent years. In 2024, SafeGrain announced a strategic partnership with Denmark-based iGrain that gave it North American manufacturing and distribution rights for iGrain’s digital monitoring products.

The expanded portfolio included automated fan controls, sensor cables capable of monitoring temperature, moisture and carbon dioxide, digital temperature sensors, a dashboard manager and a smart application for grain management.

Founded in Dayton in 1954, SafeGrain supplies grain quality monitoring and hazard detection equipment for commercial and farm operations.

Its portfolio includes grain aeration systems, temperature monitoring equipment, inventory control technologies and hazard monitoring sensors and controls covering areas such as equipment alignment, bearings, temperature and motion.
