The agreements will support soybean, corn and barley supplies to China while strengthening trade links between major producing and consuming markets.

CHINA – Olam Agri has signed grain procurement agreements worth US$800 million with C&D Inc. during the BRICS Exhibition in China, marking a major trade deal between the two companies.
The agreements cover the supply of soybeans, corn and barley to the Chinese market. Olam Agri said the deal reflects confidence in its ability to connect agricultural producing regions with destination markets through its global supply network.
The company noted that growing demand for food, animal feed and raw materials continues to increase the need for strong partnerships and efficient supply chains. It added that its cooperation with C&D aims to support market access, food security and economic growth while creating value across the agricultural supply chain.
Olam Agri also said the agreement strengthens trade ties between key producing and consuming markets. The company pointed to the BRICS Exhibition as an important platform for expanding commercial relationships and supporting trade among emerging economies.
The signing comes at a time when China remains one of the world’s largest importers of agricultural commodities, particularly soybeans and feed grains used by its food and livestock sectors.
The latest deal follows another milestone for Olam Agri in Africa. Just days earlier, Baibhav Biswas, Country Head of Olam Agri Ghana, received the Agribusiness CEO of the Year award at the 2026 Ghana CEO Excellence Awards, held during the Ghana CEO Summit in Accra.
The award recognised business leaders who have contributed to Ghana’s economic growth, industrial development and sustainable development efforts.
Under Biswas’s leadership, Olam Agri Ghana commissioned the country’s first purpose-built pasta manufacturing facility. The plant produces the First Choice Premium Spaghetti range and supports employment across manufacturing, logistics and distribution.
The company has also expanded programmes that support skills development and entrepreneurship. Through the Raising Generations Initiative, implemented with the Ghana TVET Service, young people receive baking and business training.
“This recognition belongs to our team and the communities we work with,” said Biswas. “Our commitment is to build an agribusiness that creates sustainable, long-term value for Ghana through local production, skills development and partnerships that extend beyond transactions.”
Together, the China agreement and the recognition in Ghana highlight Olam Agri’s continued focus on strengthening agricultural trade, supporting local industry and investing in long-term growth across its markets.
