Middleby launches its flagship innovation center in Italy

The facility is tailored to support the development of protein, bakery, and snack processing equipment, reflecting Middleby’s commitment to innovation across multiple food categories.

ITALY – Middleby Corporation has officially unveiled its new state-of-the-art facility in Casarsa della Delizia, near Venice, Italy, establishing a major global processing hub designed to accelerate innovation and production in food processing.

The 65,000-square-foot Middleby Centro di Innovazione (MCI) serves as a flagship innovation and demonstration center dedicated to protein, bakery, and snack processing equipment at a production scale, reflecting Middleby’s commitment to advancing food technology on a global stage.

This state-of-the-art center is designed to serve as a global processing hub for the company’s food processing division, offering a centralized space for equipment demonstrations, product development, customer testing, and operator training.

The MCI represents a major milestone in Middleby’s international expansion strategy, such as the recent acquisition of Germany’s Oka.

It joins the company’s existing network of innovation centers but stands out due to its scale, advanced infrastructure, and strategic location in Europe, a region with high demand for food processing technology.

The facility is tailored to support the development of protein, bakery, and snack processing equipment, reflecting Middleby’s commitment to innovation across multiple food categories.

According to Mark Salman, President of Middleby Food Processing, the center was “meticulously planned to ensure a one-of-a-kind experience and an unparalleled innovation showcase.”

He emphasized that the MCI blends creativity with technological progress, offering customers a hands-on environment to explore customized solutions and optimize their operations.

The facility includes dedicated zones for equipment testing and R&D, allowing clients to simulate real-world production scenarios and fine-tune their processes.

This collaborative approach is expected to accelerate product innovation and enhance customer satisfaction.

Middleby also plans to use the center to host training sessions and workshops, helping operators and technicians stay ahead of industry trends and best practices.

The launch of MCI aligns with Middleby’s broader goal of strengthening its global footprint and delivering localized support to its international customer base.

By locating its hub in Italy, the company gains proximity to key European markets while demonstrating its commitment to sustainable, efficient food-processing technologies.

The facility reinforces the company’s status as a global leader by providing a platform for testing, training, and production-scale validation in the food industry, driving the future of protein, bakery, and snack processing.

With the opening of the Middleby Centro di Innovazione, the company is well-positioned to lead the next wave of food processing innovation, bringing together engineering excellence, customer insight, and global collaboration under one roof.
