SWITZERLAND – IMCD Switzerland has reached a major milestone with the grand opening of its new Food & Nutrition Laboratory in Zurich, a strategic move that underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and customer collaboration across the food and beverage industry.

The state-of-the-art facility is designed to support product development and technical excellence across key market segments including Bakery, Savory, Dairy, Beverage, and Nutrition.

With this expansion, IMCD Switzerland aims to deepen its engagement with customers, offering tailored solutions that address evolving consumer demands and formulation challenges.

The launch event welcomed industry partners, customers, and stakeholders to explore the new lab and experience its capabilities firsthand.

A highlight of the day was the “Sensory Discoveries Challenge,” where guests tested their taste and aroma perception through a series of interactive product showcases.

From affordable chocolate cake to vibrant, colorful buns, the event spotlighted IMCD’s latest innovations and its ability to transform everyday ingredients into memorable sensory experiences.

Natalie Wahren, Business Unit Manager Food & Nutrition, Switzerland, emphasized the strategic importance of the new facility: “The opening of this facility is not just a physical expansion, but a leap forward in our mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions and collaborate more closely with our customers to meet their evolving needs.”

Her remarks captured the spirit of the event, which celebrated both technological advancement and the power of partnership.

The Zurich lab will serve as a hub for formulation expertise, sensory analysis, and technical training, enabling IMCD to co-create with customers and accelerate product development cycles.

It also reinforces IMCD’s global strategy of investing in technical infrastructure to support local market needs while leveraging international know-how.

IMCD Switzerland expressed heartfelt thanks to all attendees who contributed to the success of the launch, marking the occasion as a turning point in its journey toward greater innovation and customer-centricity.

This investment complements IMCD’s broader strategic moves, such as its acquisition of Tillmanns to strengthen its footprint in Italy and its educational outreach initiatives in Türkiye aimed at inspiring the next generation of scientists.

As the company continues to expand its footprint and capabilities, the Zurich laboratory stands as a symbol of IMCD’s dedication to excellence, agility, and sustainable growth in the food and nutrition sector.

In addition to enhancing IMCD’s market presence in Swiss and European markets, the new facility aligns with the company’s diverse portfolio of business groups, which include food & nutrition, home care, industrial solutions, lubricants, and pharmaceuticals.

Many of these groups rely on laboratory-backed support to stay at the forefront of innovation.

IMCD’s commitment to innovation reflects its mission to be a global leader in the distribution and formulation of specialty chemicals and ingredients.
