IFF expands board of directors with two new appointments

These leadership enhancements align with IFF’s strategic goals to maintain innovation leadership, drive sustainable growth, and recover profitability in the evolving global marketplace.

USAIFF has nominated Paul J. Fribourg and Jesus B. Mantas to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

According to IFF, these new board members bring extensive global leadership, industry expertise, and strategic insights crucial for advancing IFF’s innovation agenda and strengthening its market position.

Paul J. Fribourg has been assigned to the Transaction Committee, which oversees major financial transactions and strategic partnerships at IFF.

He has over 40 years of leadership experience in agribusiness, food, and investment, serving as Chairman and CEO of Continental Grain Company since 1976, where he expanded it into a global investment firm.

In addition, Fribourg holds board roles at major companies like Loews Corporation and The Estée Lauder Companies.

Jesus B. Mantas joins the Audit Committee and Innovation Committee.

Mantas is an expert in artificial intelligence, business transformation, and innovation who recently retired as global managing partner of IBM’s USD 10 billion Business Transformation Services unit.

He previously was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting and currently serves on Biogen’s board and holds leadership roles in several industry councils and academic positions.

Kevin O’Byrne, Chair of IFF’s board, expressed strong confidence in the additions, stating, “They bring a strong combination of digital innovation, global market insight and operational excellence.”

“Their experience, leadership and vision will help guide IFF through its next phase of growth as we continue to deliver breakthrough solutions for customers and create long-term value for our stakeholders.”

The appointments come as IFF continues to focus on breakthrough solutions in flavours, fragrances, food ingredients, health, and biosciences, aiming to enhance customer experience and create long-term value for stakeholders despite recent market challenges.

In July 2025, IFF unveiled its new Immersive Experience Hub located within its Singapore Innovation Center.

IFF’s multisensory facility allows collaborative product development with customers by simulating real-world conditions, streamlining idea generation, accelerating testing phases, and boosting market readiness.

IFF’s Immersive Experience Hub combines 360-degree video with sensory elements, including flavor, aroma, audio, and tactile feedback, to craft lifelike simulations. It enables virtual walkthroughs, immersive tasting experiences, fragrance demonstrations, and dynamic co-creation sessions.
