Dawn Foods debuts new churro donut products
Dawn Foods will showcase their new products: Dawn Churro Donut Mix and Ready-to-Finish Churro Donuts at IDDBA 2025 Booth 5625.
USA – Dawn Foods, a global leader in bakery ingredients and innovation, is set to launch two new products: Dawn Exceptional® Churro Donut Mix and Dawn® Ready-to-Finish Churro Donuts, both of which will be available across the United States beginning July 1.
Dawn Churro Donuts combine the shape and adaptability of a standard donut with the crispy, chewy texture of a traditional churro to create a new kind of sweet indulgence.
They are created to satisfy the changing preferences of modern customers, especially Gen Z and Hispanic audiences who are drawn to desserts from the past that have been recreated in entertaining and enticing ways.
“Churro Donuts are a standout example of how Dawn is taking cultural inspiration and transforming it into modern-day bakery success. Our teams came together to create a product that brings both innovation and ease to our customers whether they want to bake on site or finish with speed,” said Sarah Hickey, vice president of marketing, North America for Dawn Foods.
The Churro Donut Mix is simple to use, as it requires one to just add water, has a long shelf life, and is freeze/thaw stable.
According to Dawn’s in-house study on donut assortments, customers are requesting greater variety in terms of flavour and presentation.
Eighty-three percent of customers already know and enjoy churros, which are in the 96th percentile for future development potential, whereas fried donut sales are expected to increase by 7% in 2025, according to the Retail Bakers of America.
