Caulipower acquired by Urban Farmer

This transaction unites Urban Farmer’s robust manufacturing capabilities with Caulipower’s innovative, health-focused brand.

USA – Urban Farmer, a portfolio company of Paine Schwartz Partners and a specialist in plant-based dough products, has officially acquired Caulipower, a leading brand renowned for its gluten-free and cauliflower crust frozen pizzas, marking a significant development in the frozen food industry.

The acquisition was announced on November 3, 2025, and is seen as a strategic move to create a leading vertically integrated platform in the better-for-you frozen foods sector.

This transaction unites Urban Farmer’s robust manufacturing capabilities with Caulipower’s innovative, health-focused brand.

Urban Farmer, a fully integrated producer of specialty dough products, will support Caulipower’s growth while allowing the brand to retain its identity and continue serving its loyal customer base.

This deal is expected to expand the reach of Caulipower’s products across North America, leveraging Urban Farmer’s extensive distribution network and manufacturing prowess.

Caulipower, founded in 2016, disrupted the traditional frozen pizza market with its cauliflower pizza crust and quickly became a leader in the healthier food options segment.

The brand’s success reflects consumer shifts toward gluten-free, low-carb, and plant-based foods, which align with emerging dietary trends.

Since its inception, Caulipower has expanded its product line to include pizza bites and cauliflower-coated chicken, broadening its footprint in the frozen meals category.

The acquisition taps into this momentum, promising accelerated innovation and product development.

Gail Becker, founder of Caulipower, expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership’s potential, noting that Urban Farmer had been a co-manufacturer since the brand’s early days.

She highlighted the synergy of their shared commitment to health and innovation, emphasizing that the collaboration will enable both entities to better meet rising consumer demand for healthier frozen foods on a larger scale.

Becker will also remain involved, joining Urban Farmer’s board and continuing to influence Caulipower’s strategic vision.

Urban Farmer CEO Chris Jaromin emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition for expanding their product portfolio, asserting that the partnership will strengthen their position as a category leader in frozen dough and healthier frozen foods.

Paine Schwartz Partners, the private equity firm backing Urban Farmer, expressed confidence that the collaboration would generate long-term value through innovation, growth, and leadership in the better-for-you food segment.

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, but industry analysts see this as a pivotal move toward consolidating leadership in the healthier frozen foods market, driven by consumer preferences shifting towards nutritious, convenient options.
