The facility is designed to support growing demand for bakery products in Western Australia while bringing production closer to major customers.
The agreement will make Caputo’s “00” Baking Flour and “00” Bread Flour available across all 20 Woodman’s locations, strengthening the company’s access to American home bakers and culinary enthusiasts.
The flour acts as a wheat flour replacement and is made with gluten-free ingredients, including whole grain brown rice flour, whole grain sorghum flour, sweet white rice flour, potato starch, tapioca flour and xanthan gum.
The legally binding divestiture package serves as the mandatory structural remedy required to clear Vandemoortele’s acquisition of French frozen bakery peer Délifrance.
If approved, the ingredient would provide manufacturers with another source of vibrant yellow color derived from an edible plant rather than petroleum-based synthetic colorants.
