This Protein+ Stars delivers 17 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber per 3.5-ounce serving.

USA – Barilla, the world’s leading pasta producer headquartered in Parma, Italy, with major US operations, has introduced Protein+ Stars, a playful star-shaped addition to its popular high-protein pasta lineup.
Launched nationwide in January 2026, this tenth shape delivers 17 grams of protein and 10 grams of fibre per 3.5-ounce serving, blending semolina with lentil, chickpea, and pea proteins for a familiar al dente texture and classic taste.
Teaming up with “Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough, Barilla pairs the pasta with “Training Timers”; quick micro-workouts like Star Jacks timed to boil durations, turning meal prep into energizing fun.
“Life is busy balancing work, family, friends, and everything else going on,” said Hough.
“That’s why I wanted to help create Training Timers; they turn the time you’re already waiting for pasta to cook into an energizing, feel-good moment, whether it’s just for you or shared with your family. Protein+ helps fuel what I love to do, and these workouts are designed to give people the same lift through simple movement, great taste, and a little joy.”
Barilla’s Protein+ pasta is made with semolina wheat, durum wheat flour, lentil flour, pea protein, and chickpea flour, plus contains Vitamins B3, B1, and B2, iron, and folic acid.
The new Barilla Protein+ Stars are hitting retailers nationwide now and are already available on Amazon and Kroger’s website.
The new shape will join the permanent Protein+ lineup, bringing the total number of shapes to 10, including Angel Hair, Cellentani, Elbows, Farfalle, Penne, Rigatoni, Rotini, Spaghetti, and Thin Spaghetti.
“Barilla Protein+ pasta is often a go-to solution for the busiest people craving energy and amazing taste from their meals,” said Angie Cotter, US Pasta Category Marketing Director at Barilla.
“It’s an easy, real–life win that fits right into your routine, and we wanted to help make it even easier to enjoy both delicious pasta and a few minutes of movement with Protein+ Stars and Training Timers.”
Late 2025, Barilla Group unveiled its Barilla Innovation & Technology Experience (BITE), a cutting-edge global food innovation center in Parma, Italy.
