Arabian mills signs US$19M deal with Bühler to expand capacity

The contracts include the supply of equipment and provision of technical designs.

SAUDI ARABIA – Arabian Mills Company for Food Products has signed two contracts valued at SAR 71.2 million (US$19 million) with Switzerland-based Bühler AG to implement strategic expansion projects at its milling facilities in Saudi Arabia, strengthening its flour and feed production footprint in the Kingdom.

The agreements include the supply of advanced processing equipment and technical design services for new and upgraded mills in Riyadh and Hail.

Bühler will also supervise the execution of the projects, reinforcing its established role as a technology partner to millers across the Middle East and globally.

Under the expansion plan, Arabian Mills will establish a new flour mill in Riyadh with a production capacity of 800 tonnes per day (tpd), alongside a new 400 tpd feed mill at the same location.

In Hail, the milling equipment giant Buhler will help the company upgrade its existing flour mill to increase output to 150 tpd.

Bühler, headquartered in Uzwil, Switzerland, reports that a significant share of the world’s grain is processed using its equipment, positioning it as a leading partner for high-capacity, automated milling systems.

The additional capacity is expected to support rising domestic demand for wheat flour used in bakeries, food manufacturing, and retail, while also strengthening supply to the livestock and poultry feed segments.

Saudi Arabia remains heavily reliant on imported wheat for milling, sourcing from the European Union, Black Sea region, and North America, according to trade data from the General Food Security Authority and international market reports.

Since the privatization of state-owned milling assets under Vision 2030, private millers have accelerated investments in capacity expansion, automation, and downstream product development to enhance food security and reduce supply chain risks.

Launches new pasta line

In parallel with its capacity growth, Arabian Mills has announced the production of the fourth wave of products from Arabian Mills, a unique pasta with a variety of shapes and high quality.

Made with 100% specially Flour from Arabian Mills, carefully developed specifically for pasta production.

According to the company, this product combines Italian manufacturing technology with locally produced raw materials (Flour), achieving the quality standards while supporting food security.
