ACI Group introduces plant-based protein line to cater to vegan market

This initiative aims to meet the increasing demand for sustainable, high-quality proteins suitable for various applications.

UK – ACI Group, a leading supplier of innovative functional ingredients, announced the expansion of its plant-based protein offerings with a new and versatile product line.

The expanded range includes pea, soy, and wheat proteins, as well as a unique blend of plant-based protein concentrates.

ACI Group’s pea protein offerings feature isolated pea protein with 83% protein content, ideal for use in drinks, desserts, and baked goods. Additionally, yellow pea powder (50% protein) and chickpea powder (38% protein) provide viable options for moderate protein formulations.

For protein bars and confectionery traybakes, pea protein nuggets are available in three shapes with protein concentrations of 55% or 70%. For meat alternatives, texturized pea protein flakes, containing 74.6% protein, deliver a meat-like texture, making them suitable for savory applications.

Soy protein is another key component of this new line. Isolated soy protein boasts 90% protein content, enhancing the texture and protein levels of bars, drinks, cakes, and brownies.

Soy protein nuggets come in various shapes and protein levels ranging from 60% to 90%, including cocoa-infused varieties, making them perfect for traybakes, cereals, and protein bars.

Completing the range is wheat protein, which features texturized wheat flakes (76.8% and 65.6% protein) ideal for meat alternatives, as well as wheat protein crispies (65.7% protein) suitable for cereal inclusions and confectionery sprinkles.

Moreover, ACI Group has introduced a plant-based protein concentrate blend comprising fava bean, yellow pea, sunflower, and wheat proteins.

This versatile blend offers a simple, protein-rich solution for bakery products such as flatbreads, sub rolls, muffins, baguettes, and cakes, catering to manufacturers seeking functional and easy-to-use ingredients.

As more consumers shift toward plant-based diets due to environmental concerns and health considerations, ACI Group is addressing the demand for reliable and functional plant-based proteins that meet various product criteria, including taste, texture, protein claims, shelf life, and overall appearance.

“With our new plant-based protein range, we’re equipping brands and food manufacturers to create innovative and nutritious products that respond to the increasing demand for sustainable food options. From meat alternatives to baked goods, these ingredients offer exceptional versatility and functionality,” said Trish Fellowes, Food Sales Manager at ACI Group.

This launch underscores ACI Group’s commitment to supporting product innovation and sustainability within the food industry, ensuring that manufacturers stay ahead of evolving market trends while fulfilling consumer expectations for nutritious plant-based options.
