Cimbria offers Moduflex dust-free loading solution for dry bulk handling

This approach is intended to reduce airborne dust, product losses and contamination around loading stations.

DENMARK – Cimbria is promoting its Moduflex range of dust-free loading chutes as a solution for cleaner, safer and more efficient handling of dry bulk materials across grain, food, industrial and port operations.

The new system combines a Moduflex Series 300 loading chute with Cimbria’s Type FT Multi-Outlet, integrating the chute and discharge outlet into one unified loading arrangement.

The company said the design addresses a persistent issue for grain handlers, feed mills, fertilizer producers, food processors and other dry-bulk operators: the release of dust when material is transferred into open vehicles or storage piles.

Moduflex Dust-Free is intended to create a controlled material stream, or “material beam”, at the point of discharge.

Cimbria said this design removes almost all of the air and dust normally displaced during loading, thereby minimizing visible emissions without requiring a conventional dust skirt or supplementary containment equipment.

The technology is designed to control dust during the loading of products into trucks, rail wagons, containers, ships and barges, addressing emissions and material-loss challenges at bulk handling points.

The system is intended for dry bulk materials and can be configured for a range of agricultural and industrial commodities.

The technology uses controlled airflow and filtration to manage dust generated as material moves through the loading chute.

Cimbria’s latest Moduflex Dust-Free solution integrates the loading chute and outlet into a single system.

Cimbria says the solution can handle loading capacities of up to 250 cubic metres per hour.

It is also compatible with existing Moduflex Series 300 loading chutes, enabling operators to retrofit the Type FT Multi-Outlet rather than replace an entire chute system.

This retrofit capability may make the technology attractive to facilities seeking to improve workplace cleanliness and environmental performance while limiting capital expenditure and downtime.

In systems equipped with filtration modules, negative pressure helps separate dust-laden air from the product stream, while captured material can be returned to the product flow.

Cimbria offers different Moduflex configurations based on the material characteristics and the requirements of the loading operation.
