Remora advances grain infrastructure with key projects in Saudi Arabia, Senegal

In Saudi Arabia, the company announced the completion of production lines with a combined capacity of 1,200 tonnes per day

SAUDI ARABIA/ SENEGAL – Remora, a leading player in industrial systems installation and engineering, has completed two major agri-food infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia and Senegal, reinforcing its growing role in global food security and grain logistics.

Founded in 1994 by Mr. Filali Abdelhak, a descendant from a century of family experience in the agri-food industry, REMORA is a leader in the assembly of agri-food lines in Morocco and beyond. The company focuses on the manufacturing and assembly of handling parts, storage units, metal structures, and production lines for milling flour, semolina, and animal feed.

In Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Remora partnered with Italian milling technology provider OCRIM to modernize and expand the flour milling capacity of the Al Ghilal site.

The upgrade involved the full dismantling of two outdated milling units and the installation of new production lines with a combined capacity of 1,200 tonnes per day (2×600 t/24h).

Executed over a six-month timeline, the project required precise coordination to ensure operations at the site continued uninterrupted.

According to the company, more than 60 specialized technicians were deployed to handle the mechanical, electrical, and commissioning tasks. Despite the logistical and technical complexity, Remora delivered the project within the agreed timeframe.

This project marks a significant leap in production capacity while maintaining operational continuity, a testament to the strength of our multidisciplinary approach,” the company said in a project statement.

OCRIM played a central role in the commissioning and testing phases, ensuring a smooth start-up of the new lines.

In West Africa, Remora recently announced that it has completed another milestone project, this time in the domain of grain storage, by supporting the establishment of Mass Céréale’s first storage site in Senegal.

The project, conducted in collaboration with Chief Industries and other technical partners, comprised the installation of 16 flat-bottom silos, each with a storage capacity of 50,000 tonnes. This infrastructure was supported by a network of chain conveyors, transport systems, and an on-site electrical workshop.

Remora mobilized a multidisciplinary team over a 12-month period to deliver the turnkey storage complex, which now stands as a critical logistics and food security hub in the region.

Described by the company as a “flagship project,” the Senegal installation comes at a time when reliable grain storage solutions are urgently needed to bolster regional food systems amid climate variability and supply chain vulnerabilities.
