Ocrim has acquired a minority stake in Meyer Italy, thereby consolidating its commitment to technological innovation and advanced product sorting.

ITALY – Italian milling machinery giant Ocrim has announced a strategic partnership with Meyer Italy, the Italian branch of Meyer Corp, a global leader in optical sorting technology.
The collaboration is aimed at strengthening food safety and quality standards in the milling sector through advanced sorting solutions tailored to cereal and raw material processing.
Recognizing the rapid pace of technological advancement in optical sorting, Ocrim selected Meyer as a partner due to its reputation as one of the world’s largest manufacturers in the field, with a strong record of installations worldwide. Under the agreement, Meyer’s sorters will be integrated into Ocrim’s plants to enhance product inspection and cleaning processes.
Meyer’s machines are designed to detect and remove defects and foreign materials based on color, shape, and size, offering high precision for cereals, pulses, and other food products.
The equipment incorporates UHD (Ultra High Definition) imaging and UV (ultraviolet light) technologies, ensuring robust performance in food safety and quality assurance. Beyond the food sector, the machines’ versatility makes them applicable to a wide range of industries.
The partnership also integrates artificial intelligence into the process. Meyer’s AI Deep Learning technology allows sorters to adapt intelligently to variations in raw materials, optimizing efficiency and consistency while ensuring stricter quality control.
According to Ocrim, this advancement provides a significant step forward in enhancing both product safety and final product quality in milling.
As part of the collaboration, Ocrim has acquired a minority stake in Meyer Italy. This investment consolidates the relationship and secures dedicated equipment for Ocrim’s plants. It also underscores Ocrim’s broader strategy of investing in innovation to meet the growing demand for safe, high-quality grain-based foods.
“This partnership is a natural evolution for us,” the company stated, noting that combining Meyer’s technological expertise with Ocrim’s process knowledge ensures stronger solutions for the milling industry.
By deepening ties with Meyer Italy, Ocrim reinforces its long-standing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the pursuit of higher standards in food safety.
