Novonesis enters into operations as Novozymes and Chr. Hansen complete merger 

DENMARK-  Novozymes and Chr. Hansen have concluded their proposed merger, giving rise to the establishment of Novonesis, positioned as a biosolutions partner dedicated to enhancing businesses, fostering healthier lives, and contributing to a more sustainable planet.

The combined company brings together 10,000 employees worldwide and expertise that spans more than 30 different industries. Novonesis is already helping companies worldwide meet their business needs while also addressing the needs of the planet.

On December 12, 2022, Novozymes and Chr. Hansen agreed to establish a prominent global biosolutions partner through a statutory merger between the two companies. 

All regulatory approvals and registrations are now in place, and the proposed combination has been completed after the final registration with the Danish Business Authority today.

This merger will establish a global biosolutions partnership with a wide range of biological tools and a diversified portfolio in appealing markets. 

The combined group will have an annual revenue of approximately EUR 3.7 billion (US$4.01 billion) with strong profitability and cash generation.

Half of the portfolio will focus on promoting healthier lifestyles and producing higher-quality foods. The other half will focus on reducing chemical use and implementing climate-neutral practices.

The combined group will operate a global network of research and development, application centers, and manufacturing sites. It will employ approximately 10,000 skilled and purpose-driven employees who are inspired by the potential of biosolutions.
