IAOM MEA launches first-ever feed milling forum to advance industry excellence

UAE – For the first time ever, the International Association of Operative Millers Middle East and Africa Region (IAOM MEA) is introducing the Feed Milling Forum—an initiative to bolster the feed milling industry in the region.

Scheduled to take place in Dubai from May 6th to 8th, 2025, the event will bring together technical millers, industry leaders, and international suppliers to foster collaboration and innovation in feed milling.

The forum arrives at a crucial time for the Middle East and Africa’s animal feed market, which, according to Bonafide Research, is projected to surpass US$32.96 billion by 2029.

This growth is driven by increasing demand for animal protein, food security concerns, and advancements in feed technology, inspiring investments in its growth globally.

Under the theme “Where Animal Nutrition Meets Excellence,” the event will focus on high-quality, science-driven feed solutions designed to enhance livestock health and productivity.

IAOM MEA is inviting professionals to submit abstracts on a range of critical topics related to animal nutrition and feed milling.

Key subjects include basics of animal nutrition, feed science and formulation, pre-mixes and micronutrients, feed mill operations such as grinding, mixing, and pelletising, feed safety and cross-contamination, as well as automation, logistics, and data management.

Presentations will be limited to 45 minutes and must be delivered in English. The deadline for submission is March 25th, 2025, with notifications of acceptance to be sent by March 27th, 2025.

Unique networking opportunities

Beyond technical discussions, the forum will offer unparalleled networking opportunities. Industry professionals can connect with peers, explore new partnerships, and exchange insights on overcoming challenges in the region’s feed milling sector.

Attendees will also gain exposure to the latest industry trends and technologies essential for the sustainability and growth of feed-milling operations.

This forum will allow for discussions that specifically revolve around feed milling, which has its niche in the milling industry.

Building on IAOM MEA’s successful regional forums, which have previously focused on milling sectors across the Sub-Saharan African region, the Maghreb region, and the Middle East —most recently held in Kigali, Rwanda, in February 2025— the Dubai event will set a new benchmark for excellence in feed milling.

Later in the year, IAOM MEA will wrap up its 2025 events with the 35th IAOM MEA Conference & Expo in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from December 2nd to 4th, further strengthening the knowledge-sharing platform for the region’s milling industry.
