HEIN launches innovative heat recovery oven

Hein is set to present the innovative technology at iba 2025.

LUXEMBOURG – HEIN has introduced the ECOSTONE PLUS, a new rack oven that boasts a cutting-edge, fully mechanical heat recovery mechanism that maximizes energy economy.

Using an innovative physical flue gas recirculation technology, the ECOSTONE PLUS retains leftover heat inside the oven rather than releasing it through exhaust.

The solid steel pipes and thermal brick walls are able to absorb more heat from the flue gases and temporarily store it in the heat recovery system thanks to the innovative, purely physical flue gas recirculation system. The remaining heat is kept in the oven rather than being discarded.

Most of the heat recovery systems on the market use the same method: water in a heat exchanger cools hot combustion gasses (300°C and higher). The hot water is stored temporarily and must be consumed.

These kind of ovens are neither improved nor economical because complex systems fail to even balance the amount of hot water produced with the actual consumption, resulting in either insufficient hot water or the tanks not being depleted between baking periods.

Because the ECOSTONE PLUS replaces lost heat faster during loading/unloading, and baking, the typical temperature decrease is slowed down. The oven temperature drops by an average of 20°C less, which improves baking quality.

The technology also features a strong heat accumulator with energy recovery system of at least 200 kg.

The system can minimize energy consumption by up to 20% because it has a lower connection value (10%) and a shorter burner running time (about 5%) than a typical rack oven.

Additionally, the system has recently created 7″ or 10″ touchscreen controllers with heat-resistant circuits that can tolerate temperatures as high as 60°C.

The circuit boards include a beautiful 800×480 pixel display made of actual glass and LED backdrop lighting, and they are sealed to shield the electronic components from environmental impacts.

Significant advantages include lower energy usage, quicker baking periods, better dough development, and better crust formation.

The ECOSTONE PLUS does not require complicated control technologies, an external power source, or external heat storage to function.

Every bake cycle offers energy savings thanks to its completely integrated, self-regulating, maintenance-free heat recovery technology.
