Grupo Bimbo pledges to donate slices of bread to local food banks, reinforcing its commitment to fighting hunger and promoting wellness.

USAGrupo Bimbo, the world’s largest baking company, has announced a generous donation of more than 3 million slices of bread to food banks across the globe.   

This philanthropic initiative is tied to the 10th edition of the Bimbo Global Race, a signature event that blends fitness, community engagement, and social impact.   

Held in both physical and virtual formats, the 2025 race united over 165,000 participants in 28 cities across 22 countries.  

The Bimbo Global Race is celebrated as the largest race with a cause worldwide. For every registered participant, Grupo Bimbo pledges to donate slices of bread to local food banks, reinforcing its commitment to fighting hunger and promoting wellness.   

Since its inception, the race has mobilized more than 1.7 million runners and resulted in the donation of over 29 million slices of bread globally.  

Alberto Levy, Global Marketing Director at Grupo Bimbo, emphasized the company’s mission to connect its brand purpose with community values.   

“The Bimbo Global Race reflects this by placing people, their values, and communities at the heart of the event,” said Levy.   

The race’s motto, “The Good We Share,” encapsulates the spirit of collective action and generosity that drives the initiative.  

This year’s race featured a special anniversary edition hosted in Mexico, with standout performances at the Rose Bowl 10K in Los Angeles.   

Winners Elizabeth Ben-Ishai and Luis Gutierrez earned the opportunity to participate in the next host city race, furthering the event’s international camaraderie.  

Grupo Bimbo’s donation comes at a time when food insecurity remains a pressing issue in many communities.   

By leveraging the power of sport and social engagement, the company not only raises awareness but also delivers tangible support to those in need.   

The initiative aligns with Bimbo’s broader sustainability and social responsibility goals, which include zero waste, community development, and nutritional education.
